VP dwindling

i've been told that video poker's availability is dwindling, especially on the strip. being replaced with all the different types of slots. is this true

Not video poker itself, but decent video poker. You can still find plenty of crap video poker on the Strip, but games paying back 99%+ are almost gone. In the locals' casinos, you can still find plenty of 99%+ VP, but the 100%+ games are almost gone.

Slots do make more money than VP for the casino, all other things being equal, because even the worst VP games pay back more than the best slots (and yes, I know there are a few exceptions to that). But most casinos know that removing VP would alienate at least some of their customers.

I cant  say if ithey are removing machines although much of the bartops were likely decomissioned while bar areas were closed duringt he pandamic.    outside the high limit rooms the strip VP selection tends to suck....that was true before and now.

I wouldn't judge any decisions being made  this mess is behind us.    Some casino changes were temporary and some may be permanent.   We dont know which is which until next year probably.
