VP Pay Tables at 4Q

Just came back from LV and stayed at Four Queens.  Saw VP paytables that were unlike any I had seen before.

I am used to seeing the payouts get better at higher denominations, but the 9/6 JoB tables at 4Q it was the opposite.  $.25 and $.50 had 9/6 but at the $1.00 level it was only 8/5.  As a result I went down to $.50 bets.

Has anyone else seen this before?  Any guess as to their rationale for doing that?  I would have thought that they would try to encourage, not discourage higher limit play.

According to vpFree2, there are 4 full pay $1 JOB machines and 24 $.50 JOB machines. The pay tables you cite are not listed in vpFree2 - I am not disputing what you are saying, I myself have not encountered what you found, and I stay there every trip. I will be there tomorrow and will check out your cited disparity. I do know one thing for certain, there are many video poker machines there (and at other casinos) where the pay tables for like machines are varied. I always check the pay tables before playing any video poker machine.

David,

Please check it out.  I didn't think of taking a picture, which I should have.   There were 3 9/6 machines by the cashier.  Two were right under a "9/6" sign that was on top of the machines, the other was directly behind them.   ("back to back")  I did not check out every machine though.

I believe you and will check them out. I will get back to you. I agree, it does seem strange.

That is because bad pay tables are not listed in vpfree2, only ones close to full pay.   So, 8/5 jacks at $1 isn't listed, even though they have them.

From Texas's description, I'd put my money on that David will note that there are no changes to the Four Queens 9/6 jacks inventory.   The 9/6 50c machines exist only a couple in each row near the cashier.   You can easily pick a row that only has 3 or so of them in that row.

Last time I was there, it was during a very good promo that rewarded a fairly large amount of play--I think it was $50 for 1000 points, or $8000 coin-in on the 9/6es; and this one guy was ALWAYS on one of the two .50 machines. He played very rapidly and wore an expression akin to someone breaking rocks at the local penitentiary. Since I saw him on several days running, and a given player could only swing that promo once, I assume he was playing on multiple cards. One of the most reliable AP semi-ethical plays in recent years is to assume multiple identities.

I felt sorry for the guy. Playing 9/6 Jacks for 40 hours a week--that's worse than whatever they make you do when you arrive in Hell.

I recently confirmed all the 9/6 JoB machines listed in vpFREE2.com. Found all 20 machines with 25c and 50c 9/6 JoB and also the 4 with $1. See the locations here:

I haven't been there for a while, but back in February I think they still had a few dollar 9/6 JoB machines (north end of the bank to the east of the cage, same machines with the dollar 10/7 DB), but they were only giving half points.

Correct. There are 4 machines that have 10/7 DB and 9/6 Jacks. On these machines $16 coin-in = 1 point. The $.50 9/6 Jacks are $8 coin-in = 1 point.

I'd prefer to have something similar to bc.game bonus for most games I play. But I gotta say this one seems interesting enough for me to try. Just something out of my comfort zone that might be a refresher, so thank you for sharing.
