VP - which one

I will be staying at the Flamingo.  Jacks or Better has been my game of choice for getting a drink at the Video Poker bar.  What game should I be playing.  Across the casinos, what is your go to VP game for the lowest house advantage these days.  If you bought one VP card, which one would it be?

If you go to vpfree2.com you can see all the video poker pay schedules for all the casinos. Then you can decide what to play at which casino according to the best payback schedules.

If your main objective is drinking at the bar and you want to stretch out your $20 then JOB is probably your best choice.   It has the lowest amount of volatility.    You tend not to win much or lose much in the short run.

I prefer standard Bonus Poker which makes the 4-of-a-kinds worth cashing out on....but also has relatively small volatility too.

You'll find better schedules and better beer a couple blocks up the street at Ellis Island.    Tuscany Casino is next door to Ellis Island ....their scehdules are not quite as good but they have a huge bar and point mulitpliers on Mondays of 10x slot/6x vp.    That pretty much closes the gap.

I play 9/6 JOB. MSS,4 Queens,The Downton Grand and the Fremont.

MSS for the great beers,The Downtown Grand and the 4 Queens for their cocktail service.

Even though Boyd's properties have a lousy players card system,I play my VP at the MSS.

I don't even play on the strip.

Also,The Peppermill has 9/6 at the bar.9/6 JOB is getting harder to find.

I play Double Bonus poker at the 4 Queens. The pay schedule is 9-7-5-3-1-1 and the 4oaks are all progressives with 5-K starting at $62.50, 2,3,4 starting at $100 and aces starting at $200. I checked into the 4 Queens at 10:00 last Tuesday night and checked out Friday morning. I hit four-of-a-kind 31 times and I hit one royal flush during that relatively short stay! That was the 4th royal I've hit at the 4 Queens, and 3 of those have been on the same machine...that's my lucky machine!

These are my go-to games:

 - Bonus Poker: 2 coin for two pair can make a big difference in longevity at a session.  The 4OK bonus hands (2s, 3s, 4s, Aces) are a hook.

 - Double Bonus:  Look for 45 coins for the full house, 35 for the flush, 25 for a straight.  Again, the bonus hands make your day.  4OK 5-K pay 250 coins, a plus.

Games with bonus hands, you sacrifice coin somewhere.

HOWEVER, IMO, there is no game that you "should be playing."  If your game of choice is JOB, why look elsewhere?  We all have our games of choice.   You like JOB and it works for you?  Stay with it.

Many thanks.  Really nice of everyone to chime in.  I will be at a conference at the Flamingo.  Last year when there was a break, I would bypass the refreshment go to the poker bar.  Drop in a twenty.  And get a bloody mary.  Then cash back out.  So much nicer than a coke.

Wow.  VPFRee has really changesd since the yahoo group days.  Nice to see.  Also nice to see that advantage VP is still possible.

Years ago I would always stop at Casino Royale and get my coupon sheet.  Then play multiline VP during triple bonus hours while enjoying Baileys and coffee.  There were always a cash bonus for certain hands and then cash back for the points.  I think those days are long gone.

Always have at least one breakfast at the Peppermill.  Not sure I will this time because I usually share the omelet with my wife and I am by myself this trip. Those things are big. And I like the Fire Pit's Bloody Mary.  I never played VP there but I always get a Bloody Mary there.  I assume they don't give free drinks to players at the Peppermill firepit. :).

No one with a brain should risk any money whatsoever at an online casino.
