I like that idea. Opening that mail after returning home would be fun. But I don't think I'd have the discipline to do it.
I will let you know when I win big in a couple of weeks. LOL
Seriously, I am in Vegas to gamble so unless the win is more than $1k I would keep playing.....not necessarily at the same machine but certainly in the same area.
I have my daily allotment so any extra winnings is like playing with the casino's money so I do up the bet. Go from .25 to $1 VP (if at the bar) or bet up on the .25 slots to maximum credits.
Keep safe

I do just the opposite. After a big win, I drop down in denomination. That way, I pretty much will stay ahead unless I'm horribly unlucky for the rest of the trip.
If I can drop it into a machine, put it in my pocket, buy some pot with it, or set fire to it, it's my money, not the casino's. Money is fungible; I win some, it joins all the rest of the money I have and doesn't wear a label saying "WINNINGS."
I would generally keep playing if I was exploiting a promo that had a limited lifespan. One example would be one of those South Point double point redemption promos. Last November, I slurped up quite a few $50-for-$25 Amazon gift cards. Christmas shopping solved!
Returning to the idea of dropping down in denomination, I've found--somewhat to my surprise, actually--that playing for nickels or dimes is just as fun as playing for quarters. Like Terry, I come to play--and if I get a big hit, I like to think of it as, the casino has just given me the opportunity to gamble for hours and hours without booking a net loss. That's an all-too-rare situation, so I want to preserve it when it occurs.
Good point Kevin...I have never though of dropping down in denom but I'll see what that does. As long as I am playing that is all that matters....and drinking...
What Else? They put it all back in and then some.
Which brings me to the topic of Money Management, IE"MM". John Patrick, love him or hate him has a good working strategy on money management. Sure his gambling techniques are unorthodox to say the least, but on MM he's spot on in my opinion. (before you go off and blast me or John Patrick remember this is my OPINION!)
You have yours, I have mine. Nuff said....
In any case if you watch a couple of his videos or read his books you'll find a working money management method that, if you have the discipline might just save you money and for me it adctually helped to win on occasion and come back home with some degree of winnings still in my pocket!
Do you know the percentage of people (especially tourists) that win and keep some in Vegas? Well, it's very low.
How many times I've heard... I lost... but I had a good time....
As far as the original question goes, my finger hits the cash-out button lickety split when I hit a royal ( J O B is all I play intentionally.) I suppose I'm not the only one who has not noticed the machine is on another variation of v.p. I always play at a denomination that playing max coin doesn't make me uncomfortable. If I hit a royal within the first day or two of a weeklong stay I'm going home a winner, not by going completely on the roost or dropping in denomination, but by playing less if appropriate. I like to play but I don't need to play. As far as a two or three hundred dollar winning session which can happen if I'm doing ok and bump up to .50 for 5 or 10 hands hoping to catch lightning in a bottle, that type of winning session isn't going to change my overall play for the trip, it's just more oppotunities to hit the button.
As far as dropping in denomination that's fine, it's just not for me. Again, I like to play I don't have to play.
As far as sending the proceeds of a nice win home in the mail, if it's an amount I'm uncomfortable having access to I'm certainly not sending it via USPS. Nothing political about that statement, close to an election or far from an election I don't think anyone would feel comfortable having their mail delivered on a consistent basis to my house.
My favorite slot is a VGT machine, Hunt For Neptune Gold. If the red screens are rolling I will increase my bet. I also watch the Bingo patterns and will increase my bet when it resets itself.
