What Percent to Tip on Handpays?

What percent/rate do you tip for handpays?

How do you divide up the tip between the guy getting your money and the supervisor/witness?

Max tip is .5%, less if it takes them awhile to get you paid.

One tip is sufficient, the staff splits the tips.
Tip whatever you want. There is no one correct answer. As an example- I would tip better on a handpay of 2,000 when I'd only had $40 invested in the machine as opposed to the same payout when I had $3,000 invested, yet the workers did the same amount of work.
I tip $10 on a $1,000 handpay. Haven't had one lately, unfortunately, lol.

Where I work, supervisors are not allowed to accept tips. The floor/change people pool their tips, and any tips received by supervisors or managers are divided among the floor people, as well.

I'm getting cheaper.
I just don't DO big tips on handpays anymore.
Last couple biggies I got.........was paid in hundies.
I kept it. I don't hand them out like I used to.
Times are tough for everybody.

(I should say, I Do hand out twenties....just Not hundies like I used to.
If the person who pays you off is smart, they won't just give hundies & expect it.)

I usually tip one per cent up to $5000 and less as the jackpot goes up from there. I tip the person who hands me the money.
I would be in the range Sue uses. Although I could easily lean towards CLV's method. But karma is involved.

Same here, or somewhere in that neighborhood.
I don't struggle with the math.
A ten, a twenty, maybe two.
I give it to the one who counts out the money.
Agree with Terry on the karma thing...can't igore it.
I'm sorry but thats where I draw the tipping line. I have no problem tipping cabbies, bellhops, waiters, dealers, maids ect. but i just cannot tip for someone giving me the money i finally won. I'm a good tipper generally, min. 20% but thats just one thing i can not tip for. hmmmm maybe Karma is why i haven't hit in a while.... ok. i just became a very generous tipper on hand pays, hear that karma? generous....

I'm a slot attendant, and I love having food on my table, and there would be very little food on my table if I made no tips. Anything is appreciated, but I think 1% is decent. I have worked at this job for almost ten years, and I can tell you that it varies greatly. Several times I have had to count out $25,000 in cash and did not receive a dime. And I have paid $1200 and gotten a $200 tip a few times. That is how greatly it varies. I hate to go in a restaurant and pay $100 for $15 worth of food, and then be expected to tip the waiter, but I do it anyway, because I know that like me, they are working mostly for tips and if I don't tip, I am hurting the waiter, not the restaurant. That being said, when I pay you, it's your money, and it's up to you do what you want to do, and if you don't tip me, I'll just have to hope the next person does. As for who to tip, in the casino where I work, if I pay less than $5,000, I pay it alone. If it's over that, I must have a manager with me, and they cannot accept tips. But most places do require a witness for jackpots, and I've always assumed that they split whatever they get. I would tip the person who pays me the money.
