What Percent to Tip on Handpays?

I know you said on another thread, that you work for Penn gaming in Charles Town WV.
Don't know if the Tips are any different from Big place to smaller places?

But like I said earlier..........if you hit a biggie, and are only paid off in hundies?
And you don't have change?
Its kinda awkward.........and seems to indicate,
you're expecting hundies as tips.

I really don't give out hundies like I used to.
Times are tough for everyone, and when you work in a profession where you
Don't get tips........heaven knows nobody tips me..........
I hear you, its appreciated,.........Just remember both sides please.
The only reason for a hand pay is to get the IRS their cut. Let the IRS do the tipping.
In response to Calif. loves Vegas...I fully understand where you're coming from and like I said, it's your money, and if you don't tip me, I just have to hope the next person does.....and I almost always break down the final hundred or two, unless it's something wild, like over $10,000. Some attendants will pay 3 or 4 grand and pay all hundreds. I don't work like that. Also, if it's an amount like $1,250, alot of the attendants will put a 50 on the end, instead of two twenties and a ten, to avoid getting the ten-spot.
I don't even do that. If I pay you $1,250 and you want to give me a ten, that's better than nothing.
I always try to avoid looking greedy. It makes me feel like a slime-ball.
I think if there were more thoughtful people like you seem to be joker, there would be more
generous tipping going on.

i have tipped up to 20 for a thousand royal, but kinda fell outta the habit when tito took most of the handpays. I do like to tip the server when I am gonna be at a machine a while, as I know the space I'm using up isn't being used by someone who drinks more than I (I abstain for cause from alcohol, and drink little at a machine I expect to win, so I'm not leaving for...you know). The two biggest progressives for my life included finding the server for another 5-10 dollar tip above the 10-20 (depending on the time I waited) to the attendant. Some folks are not gonna tip, period. I can and do. That's life. Good Luck!
In Louisiana, a $2,000 had pay nets $1,380 after state and federal taxes. I usually tip $40. It really does matter how the hand pay is delivered. If it's all $100's and I don't have any $20's a tip is difficult. jokermgb is smart and know how to deliver a hand pay to maximize the tip. Most people like to tip or share the good fortune, if it's convenient.
Who doesn't have every type of denom. already on them? Like the handpay is the only cash around?!?
I tip $10.00 or $20.00- I have cut back..use to give them both who comes to pay me $20.00.

Once i sought out a cleaning person because she was kind and wished me luck- we made eye contact and her wishes were sincere- plus, I'm a sucker more and more for older folks... as I see how hard it is for myself to get up and do it again every day- work makeup train etc..
money comes and money goes- love stays and money is an expression of love, appreciation n thanks
Now I can see tipping the cleaning person for a hand pay. They actually do something for you not for Uncle Sam.
" Who doesn't have every type of denom. already on them? Like the handpay is the only cash around?!?"

Me.

Last dollar royal I hit........was on my last bill..........In the machine.
When they paid me off in hundys.......the only change in my fanny pack, was a few ones for the waitress.
I didn't like giving zip, but I had No tens, twenties, even fives, on me.
Too embarressed to ask for change........but honestly, they spun around so fast & left, that I didn't
worry about it anymore. I'm just saying, if they Break the last bill.....might be more benefical to Them.

Yeah, I have been caught with no small bills.

As far as tipping, I don't play enough slots/vp
to ever win enough to tip anyone. LOL

However, a dealer I know told me on a big table bonus win like in Pai Gow, $500 or more,
the dealers think 2 1/2% is a good tip.

So that's $25 per $1,000.

I usually double that unless I already had a bet up for the dealer to begin with. LOL

The same applies for 3-card poker.

With BJ it's a bit different.

I rarely give the dealer a tip.

I almost always let them play for a chip that
I put up for them.

If I'm on a hot streak, I have put up a tip for the dealer to play for as much as 15 times or more in a row.

Sometimes, they end up with more money than me. LOL

BTW, this is my M.O. if I find the dealer to be
a regular person. If they are bi**hy then they
get 0.

Recently, I have run into a lot of bi**hy dealers. LOL

I have been getting the feeling lately that they don't like winners. Go figure. LOL

If I was a dealer I would be the same way I am now:

Always a happy-go-lucky zany kind of guy!
