The spins are not grouped towards the end of the month, but spread out evenly over the month.
I did not see the anomoly of greater values towards the end of the month. But given the small sample size it is next to impossible to make a statistically valid conclusion.
I like what you are doing though by tracking it by trip. I will start doing that. It is a good promotion for SP and I hope they continue it.

So far for the month we have "earned"
With the 100,000 point spin - 45 spins - $760 - $88,040 coin-in = .86%
Without the 100,000 point spin - 44 spins - $460 - $86,190coin-in = .53%
Even though the promo says you spin every 2,000 points, the actual trigger varies and is in the 1,850 to 1,950 point range.
Thanks for the detailed info, Don. So, excepting that outlier, you've gotten just a little over $10 a spin. Including it, you've gotten $19.
The question remains re on the last week of the promo, will they be awarding larger prizes. But the 31st is a Monday, so who knows. They might start dumping as early as the 24th.
BTW I've noticed the early trigger before. Odd that it happens that way, but obviously not a bad thing.

Best I've ever done is $25 I believe. I've also noticed it is more like 7600 points to get the four free spins in when I've gone before. I'm headed out Sunday night so I'll track it like you did and report back next week for you guys. I also wanted to test Kevin's theory. Worth a try at least. In the past for me (and I've never really paid attention to when I was actually there during the months) I'd say I was around .6% as well so I look at this promotion as like 3x points but one that the high volume rollers can't just go and kill the casino for and ruin for the rest of us. And why ruin Southpoint, it is the best casino out there and they realize they can make $ through sheer volume instead of killing the customers through reduced pay schedules on everything. If Vegas was run like Southpoint it would be better for everybody but kudos to them as they are packed every night of the week with locals 60% and then 40% with the rest of people from conventions or sporting events. The owner of that place truly knows what he is doing and installs it in the staff as well. It's exactly the way I would run a casino if I could and run 95% of them right out of business.
One possibility why this iteration of the promo might be different is that the top prizes are considerably higher. So maybe this time around, they won't find that there's still a lot of undistributed money/prizes during the last week of the promo. When I played and won $50 more often than not, that was the top prize.
In any event, it's one of the very very few remaining opportunities to play VP and get a return of 101%. Let's hear it for South Point for not following the rip everyone off trend.
Maybe that's the way it is. I haven't noticed the backs grouping up by the end of the month either.
