When do the books stop taking these future bets?

NFL: divisional winners (I'm not even sure if this is offered)
conference winners
Super Bowl winner

College football: BCS winner
luckys sports book (terribles, plaza, fitz, primm, sierra nev) has division odds, and I think some of the big boys have them as well. These type of bets are probably only avail to kickoff on Sept 8th. The others
you mention will be available all the way up to the playoffs, but of course the odds will change. To be honest with you, the futures in this town really suck now that corporations have got involved, they want to
take no risk. It used to be you could try to catch lightning in a bottle with your favorite team, but I almsot laughed out loud yesterday when I saw the 49ers at 35 - 1 to win the superbowl, the true odds are probably 10x that if not higher. You are better off waiting til the playoffs start, if your team is in there, bet them on the $$$ line and parlay it every time if they are fortunate enough to continue winning. Here's an example about 4 or 5 years ago, when the NY Giants were the champs if you money lined each game you would have made about 80-1 (I think they beat Tampa, Dallas, GB and NE to win it all, but that could be off a bit recalling from my creaky ol brain). However the playoff odds on the Giants to win probably was never above 20 or 25 to 1 as they are a public team. So instead of your $100 bet turning into $2,100 or 2,600 if miracle of miracles your guys win, you can turn it into over 8k. Books love future bets, they build a horrible theoretical hold of 50+% into them and love all the tourists who come in from places like indy/chic/gb even and slap down 20 on their beloved team. Long winded answer to your ?, but the answer is somewhere here in this dribble. Can you tell I am not a fan of futures bets or what the sportsbook do to the public in regards to these! Nice that you gave me a soapbox, but I hope I helped you.
college fb same thing avail most of the season at Luckys. Some places will take them down once the season kicks off Sept 1.
I get out there Sept. 10th (evening) and some people I work with know that I'm going and are trying to get a consensus on a future bet or two. I don't have a problem shopping for the best price for them, and if they get lucky they would kick a little something my way I suppose.

Jack, I have found that the worst places for odds on futures are the Caesar's and MGM Mirage properties. They are downright ridiculous. I just got back a few weeks ago and found that the Palozzo had the best odds on the strip. I got 6-1 on New England to win the Super Bowl. The Caesars properties had them at 3-1 and the MGM-Mirage properties had them at 4-1.

I also bet Alabama to win the BCS. The Palozzo had them at 6-1. Caesars 7-2. MGM-Mirage 4-1. These bets will still be available after the season starts. They will just adjust the odds when they see fit. When viewing the sheet in the sportsbook, ask the ticket seller for the current odds on the team you want before making the bet. Sometimes they adjust the odds in the computer before typing up current sheets.
concur with Caesers and MGM being horrid, but now they all are. Sadly, Palazzo/Venetian sportsbook being taken over by Cantor Gaming
(not sure when but it will be soon) who also has horrid future odds. Agree w 11, you do need to shop. The grocery store is just a lot more expensive.
