Wednesday, wife and I went up to Downstream. Wife had a Spa appointment for Thursday. It was 2X points for Thursday. I extended our stay another night into Friday I had $115 free play, I turned into $182 on Neptune slots. We played a little Pai Gow and reitred early Wednesday with a $700 net win.
Thursday I gambled on slots, VP and Pai Gow. I was down around a Thousand when the wife met me at the Pai Gow table after her Spa treatment. I was playing two hands and she was playing one, when she gets a 9 high Pai Gow with $20 on insurance. It pays $2,000. She tips the dealer a hundred. We put on a floor show for the dealers and players bantering back and forth of how much I was to get. I ended up getting the $500 I had given her to buy in with. Later on she gives me another thousand to keep me from having to go to Cashier to get another influx of cash to gamble with.
We gamble until 9 pm Thursday, playing Slots, Pai Gow, 3-card poker and my wife's favorite, Bloackjack. I despise Blackjack because it is almost impossible to win any real money. While playing Pai Gow my name is drawn for a $500 gift card from Walmart.
We decide to drive back Thursday night, I'm worried about our cat, Eloise. We fill up my truck with a $40 gas comp. I do a final tally of our two days gambling and see I lost $1,100. If you count the Gift cards, I lost only $600. I will most likely recievie a mailer with $250 free play for the amount of action this trip. Plus I can convert the points I accumulated into free play, another $120. I also receive $115 weekly in free play. I can include the $100 comp Spa treatment. The $125 food with the room, and gas comp, $40. I probably came close to breaking even. We had a good time and I will return next Thursday. The following Saturday We will see the Marshall Tucker band. We have 4 tickets and two rooms with food comped.
In some of my earlier postings, I've talked about my desire to get to Platinum status. It is by invitation only. The casino table manager told me he thinks there's only 12 Platinum card holders. I don't think I'm going to get one anytime soon.
