Just a bit of wishful thinking here ... is there a maximum a casino would pay you in cash if you won a jackpot ?

Good question. I took a $40,000 win in cash a few years ago from Texas Station, no problems.

I've taken a small amout in cash ans the rest in a check. Why carry a large amount of cash and set yourself up for robbery?

The reason I asked is that I am from the Uk, so wouldn't be able to accept a US cheque... Still would be a nice problem to have

A UK bank should be able to easily cash a US check for one of its customers at prevailing excange rates for a modest administrative fee and make the funds available in a matter of days, I've seen it myself.

First, welcome to the boards!

Another possibility is to open a US bank account if you visit on a fairly regular basis. We know several Canadians who do that and makes it simple for their gambling trips and no need to worry about fees for currency conversions. Of course I don't know the laws in the UK for bank accounts in other countries.

Another possibility is a wire transfer to your bank in the UK.

Another thought.............Has anyone ever attempted having winnings Wire-transferred
into their bank acct.? Is this possible? Would a casino do it?

I've had checks made out for winnings over 4k, but wondered for Bigger amounts, if
you could wire-transfer instead.?
