Revamped "Showvivor" at Santa Anita

1st race #4
Considered passing on today's card, but going with Setsuko in the the 7-horse 5th. Spent way too much time thinking about this today. 10 minutes is too much. When my show streak ends, I'll probably switch to the no-brain-required Highest Win Payoff category.
Missed noting the scratches in the 1st 2 races. With the 1st race turning into a 4-horse race, I would have surely gone that way. My horse finished 5th of 7, so my show streak ends. I could start another show run, but like I said, it's taking too much time to do this from now until June! I'm going to switch and go for the quick and dirty and brainless: namely, the biggest win payout. Good luck to Larry and anyone else still going for the other categories. --Dunbar
Showvivor Update I wrote, "I'm going to switch and go for the quick and dirty and brainless: namely, the biggest win payout. " It looks like a lot of people are doing that. When a new "biggest win payout" of $132.40 was reached yesterday, 22 people were on board. The horse was 30-1 in the Morning Line. I was on the 50-1 ML in an earlier race. Sadly, Dustin's Mission finished 10th of 12 at 105-1. In the other categories, after 21 days of racing: 6 people have picked 21 straight horses to show. Two others have a streak of 20 going--they must have chosen to skip one day. Skipping a card doesn't affect a streak. 2 people have picked 11 horses that finished exactly 2nd. The longest win streak is 11. The longest win streak that's still alive as of today is 8. In Total Wins, there are 2 players with 17 and 6 more with 16. There are at least 100 players with 13 or more wins. --Dunbar
