Personal Information and Online Casinos

What personal information should you be prepared to give to open an online gaming account?
The most reputable online casinos, which are typically those registered in Gibraltar, Malta and similar UK dependencies (rather than places like Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, Israel, and similar spots), will ask for full name and address information, date of birth, email address etc. Most will require a debit card or credit card number on file, even if you intend to play using UKash or Neteller etc. The debit or credit card provides proof of age. Some will, although rare, ask for a scan of your Passport or identity card. This is for the prevention of money laundering and compliance with KYC (know your customer) legislation, rather than for any negative reason.

Each casino is different, normally an email to [email protected] (where casino name is the casino you are playing with) will normally get you these answers up front.

For the record, I've never had any online casino use my personal data inappropriately, or share it etc. As long as you stick to well licensed jurisdictions, all is usually fine.

Absolutely right Davidpom....really a constructive resource for both newbie and professional online casino players......sharing our personal information is a really big thing, players need to be cautious while sharing them at any online casino website....Thanks for the share...!!
