WinPalace - don't play

If you want to be paid by a casino after you actually win according to their specific rules and actually want to get paid, don't play WinPalace. I have waited 20 days for a wire transfer after waiting almost 15 days to be approved. I get the same run-around: we'll email finance, or they want me to email thm myself. Either way, I still wait for a response, and it or my withdrawal never shows up. Great bonuses, good VIP, but don't expect to get your money from them

There certainly are. For every bad online casino, there are 3-4 good ones.

What kind of recourse does one have in that situation (If any)?

In reality, if you don't get paid, there's very little recourse except the "live and learn" phrase.

My suggestion: initial deposits should always be small (say $100 max). Never ever send a casino more deposits until your first winnings have been PAID. That helps to minimise risks for you.

Ideally only play at reputable organisations - these tend to be Malta, Gibraltar, UK etc, rather than Netherlands Antilles, Curacao and similar caribbean destinations.

I play at each casino I feature on my blogs before I recommend them - to ensure that payouts etc do in fact come. That's not much help to you after the fact (e.g. you WON'T find WINPALACE on any of my blogs, for example), but does give you options of where to play going forward.

WinPalace have long been a dodgy outfit, lucky there are so many more to choose from!
