Cashout warning

If you're planning to cash out by check or have recently done so... don't. I've have 3 checks bounce in the last month and 3 more in the mail that I have been told upon inquiry will not clear. This is from both FTP and Stars. I recommend you check with your site on options.
These checks bounce because your bank wouldnt accept them or there is an issue with monies in the bank account for the sites?

On stars I use the direct to checking account electronic transfer.

There is an issue with the bank accounts.

Yeah... I just stepped up to modern technology and initiated my first bank transfer, but that ls limited to $2850 / week on Full tilt. That's going to be a real pain. FTP just put back two of the checks that are supposed to be in the mail. No action on the one that they say won't clear. I suspect I'm going to have to wait for it to be rejected and then ask for it back.

Interestingly, I received what looked like a form email just a few minutes ago telling me the last two checks are a no go. For all this trouble, they credited me $50. Pretty poor versus how they used to treat these screw ups. However, I'm sure they are giving out a lot of $50 as there are a lot of problems.

As for Stars, they sent an email a few days ago saying the check was no good, but have not yet refunded the money or offered any compensation so we'll see.
Checks still come in obviously hand-stuffed, manually processed envelopes? To me it says that the sites are now < 1 step ahead of the law. I haven't cashed out in awhile, but every time I did, the check came from a different processor and was drawn on a different bank account.

f Bill Frist. It's all his fault with that gd UIGEA.

$2850? wow... that sucks.. certainly nice that you are winning enough to max out but for the real grinder like yourself I can imangine that can be a real issue. I never liked FTPs cashout policies. I dont recall there being a limit at stars but again I certainly never tried to cashout more than $2500 at one time.

Cat,

I don't think I've every received a hand stuffed envelope. It's always those tear on 3 sides things and then tear the chekc out.

Hopefully, they'll get the law that repeals UIGEA passed through. It's already made it through committee. I *think* that will be a good thing.

H,
I'm not sure of the limits on Stars. I don't play there as much - though I am transitioning a bit more play over there. I have a small thought of going for SuperNova next year.

As an additional note, Stars offered a 10% bonus due to the cashout failure. This was significantly more customer friendly than FTP's 1.25 % from the last two returned checks and the 0% for the three checks that failed to clear.
I just read that etrade accounts don't charge for incoming wire transfers and that can be linked to your checking account, you might see if that's a viable alternative. If that doesn't pan out, it seems at least some banks are willing to only charge $15 or $20 bucks for a wire. And, come on, if you aren't willing to pay 15 bucks, it's not THAT big of a pain, right?
It's mostly a short term pain because I have to get three failed checks out plus current winnings so I have a short term backlog. If I can keep it a long term back log, I'll be pretty happy.
Yeah, that part is a big pain. I had a check not clear from Bodog a long time ago. It did suck getting it all cleared up.
My last cashout was in August and mine cleared ok, but the boards blew up a few days later with bounced checks for literally the next day. (and my cashout curse is still hanging around)

I'm guessing they are just one step ahead of the regulators and keep having to switch processors all the time.

The Grump was complaining he got a Bodog cashout in the form of a reloadable Visa from the Philippines thats based on their pesos.

It's going to get harder and harder to get money out I'm afraid.
