Dealers hate me

OK, well maybe they don't really hate me, but most of them dislike me. And I'd like to keep it that way. Why? Because I'm a terrible tipper. I only give them a buck. I don't care how much I win.

I've seen a lot of players at tables get all buddy-buddy with dealers and then feel obligated to tip them more than makes sense. Sometimes even lavishly, in my view. I'll have no parts of that. I tip one buck, period. And if they sneer at that, I'll cut them off pronto. It isn't my responsibility to make up for the casino's shortfall in how they pay these guys.

So, what do you guys do? Big tipper or cheap, like me.
I tip one dollar on pots over $100 in my 5/5 normal game or 2/5 NL in vegas. thats it. in a blue moon if the pot is super big I will tip two dollars.

h
I tip $1.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who tips appropriately. For the life of me, I could never understand why some players are overly generous with a tip after winning a nice pot. Obviously it's their money, they can do as they please with it. But they act like the dealer actually had something to do with them getting dealt a winning hand. A trained monkey would have as much to do with it. LOL.

I usually tip a dollar also. And I tip on just about all pots, even if it's just the blinds. I know what it's like to work for tips, so I don't mind taking care of the dealers. At my regular place, MGM, i might be a little more generous if I was on a rush during that dealers time at the table.

About a month and a half ago I won a nice pot, (maybe my last one too btw) and as I was stacking my chips they changed dealers and I missed his tip. Two weeks later I finally got the same dealer. Right after he sat down I tossed him two bucks and said, " I owe you that from about two weeks ago". He laughed and said, " I remember that, I thought it was just a bad beat".

Plus he's one of the better dealers in the place. After that he looked genuinely appreciative and happy, kinda like a kid on Christmas. It feels good too...
$1/pot, no matter the size ($4 or $100). I've never seen a dealer complain in 13 years of playing.
$1 unless the pot only contains the 'blinds', if the dealer want's more they should work to keep the game moving and increase the number of hands delt.

That Thai dealer, the gal with the reddish highlights, carries a BlackBerry, about 36 or 38, perfect unblemished skin, has a tendency to let her gaze linger on you just a few seconds too long if she likes you...you might know who I'm talking about. Even her I usually tip only 1 buck. But I'm keeping my options open.

This is my first post in this side of the board. When talking about tipping it becomes a sore spot with me.
I consider myself generous. If win a $100 I will tip $5 If it is over a $100 I will tip according to the service.A one dollar tip , I would think would draw a gaze and deservingly so especially anything over a hundred.

A huge pot and a one dollar tip . I would give you a dirty look even if I wasn't the dealer.
Take your money and run .I hope your generosity bites you elsewhere.

In a game where long term the absolute best players in the world are making 5 big blinds / 100 hands against a 3$ rake long term, to give away an extra 2.5 big blinds when you win a nice pot (assuming we are playing 1 2 NL or 2 4 Limit) is tantamount to long term poker suicide.
