Hi to all my KP friends. What's your latest news ==> wsp, row, osric....

Hey dog and zaph. Thanks for posting.

What's up with you zaph?
I play the micro tourneys on stars (mostly 180 players, $3.30 rebuy or $2.20) and PLO H/L on weekends occasionly, but not on a very regular basis. It is still hard to find places where you can play live poker in Germany, so I switched to making music and building guitar amps again. Since we bought our house, there are lots of things to do. Ah, and work sucks, too.
Im still a bold bastard and am trying to reduce weight significantly by sticking to a diet and doing the machine (cross-trainer) daily. Still havent found a way to beat my inner demons, they have good arguments...
I have played live $1/$2 NLHE twice in the past year. Once in Vegas for 4 sessions of ~ 1 hour each. Showed a modest profit of $170. Once on a cruise this past January, played one session only, losing $45 for an hour's play, as a result of gettting dealt cards like 3,8 offsuit almost every hand and then not coming close to hitting the flop the 2 or 3 times I did have a hand.

Hence, for this live play, I show a profit of 62.5 BB's for 5 hours play, or 12.5 BB's profit per hour.
Hi,

I've been playing rush poker, since it's inception. I pay the bills four tabling 100nl rush and 5-10 hours of math tutoring a week. I applied to PhD programs again for the fall for Economics and Finance, and if I can find a school willing to give me an assistantship, I'll be doing that this fall. If not, I passed level I of the Certified Financial Analyst exam and I plan to take level II this June. I'll look for a job in finance, and see where that takes me.

In other news, I'm headed to Spain for 20 days including 6 days in Morocco in March, so looking forward to that.

I've been slogging in the low limit ring trenches...as usual. Unfortunately I don't seem to be getting any better, or worse. My roll goes up and down within a $300-400 range.

The summer of 2009, I ran so hot it was scary. Based on my results now, I'm thinking that I was just on the good side of the variance curve for once (and only once apparently).

If anyone has any "low hanging fruit tips" for spotting glaring gaps, I'd appreciate them. I'm playing less these days...going for better poker/life balance, so my analysis of my stats has been pretty basic. But I've noticed that I seem to have gotten less aggro as evidenced by a larger difference between my VPIP and PFR numbers. I'd like to think I'm just calling with more hands such as small pairs and SCs that play better in multi-way pots where once I would fold these, but i'm not sure.

I enjoy playing, but seem to have plateaued in the last 18 months.
Hi wagon, cat.

Thanks for the update. The most important thing is that you are both well.

Best regards,

'lock
wsp, osric, row - wassup??
Good to read up on what everyone's been doing. Other than seldom reading the LVA forums, I spent most of my time working, sleeping, or going to Atlantic City. I've been reading a lot more lately, which is a good thing, though I'm also trying to build a bankroll online and maintain "silver" status at Stars. That means a couple poker weekends a month or when there's some other compelling reason to play midweek (and I don't have to wake up at 4:30 the next morning).

I'm looking forward to a trip to Las Vegas in a couple weeks, and hopefully playing some live poker. It's been a while since I've done that, so we'll see if I still remember how to play.

I miss the old tournaments. Maybe we'll have to have a big reunion sometime in the spring. Someone just has to find Happy Ron.
Oh, and regarding the others, I'm pretty sure Os is trying to get his furniture/carpentry business off the ground, while Reg recently performed a stand-up comedy act. At least, that's what Facebook tells me.
A bit of an update from me. After I hurt my knee in hawaii it seemed to calm down but all of a sudden this week I can barely walk and its so painful. I already discussed an in between knee surgery with my doctore before my replacement to see if he can clean things up a bit. I am trying to re-schedule that for next week if I can.. otherwise I have to use crutches until my surgery which is scheduled for mar 22nd.

wish me luck.. lol.. lets hope there's a chunk of cartilage that just lodged in a bad spot and the doctor can remove it and I can walk again without pain. otherwise my knee replacement may have to come sooner than July.. ugg..
