$4 gas is here!

I wish it was only $4.00 in Canada - try $1.32 per litre - that is over $5.00 per gallon.

We are still waiting to find out why it was bush's fault then and not BO's now.
The local news announced yesterday the first gas station in Vegas to hit $4. And it's obviously designed to target tourists. It's the Sinclair at Gillespie & Warm Springs, near the rental car return -- $4.02 for regular.
"Change" ???? ...............................

Rick

Regardless of who's at fault, if prices go higher or stay high for a sustained period, you can kiss the recovery goodbye.

and Obama is an intellectual w/o corporate holdings

I am still blaming Bush. My mission is acomplished

unfortunately that connection was proven to be a factor.

While most business's don't support bambam he is in the pocket of the labor unions

This could have helped the cause:

Shell Oil Company has announced it must scrap efforts to drill for oil this summer in the Arctic Ocean off the northern coast of Alaska. The decision comes following a ruling by the EPA’s Environmental Appeals Board to withhold critical air permits

The closest village to where Shell proposed to drill is Kaktovik, Alaska. It is one of the most remote places in the United States. According to the latest census, the population is 245 and nearly all of the residents are Alaska natives. The village, which is 1 square mile, sits right along the shores of the Beaufort Sea, 70 miles away from the proposed off-shore drill site.

At stake is an estimated 27 billion barrels of oil. That’s how much the U. S. Geological Survey believes is in the U.S. portion of the Arctic Ocean. For perspective, that represents two and a half times more oil than has flowed down the Trans Alaska pipeline throughout its 30-year history. That pipeline is getting dangerously low on oil. At 660,000 barrels a day, it’s carrying only one-third its capacity.
Make no mistake the goverment is in large part to blame for high gas prices but not for the reasons people argue. If the government put caps on the ability of financial instituions to purchase oil contracts gasoline would be much cheaper (Goldman Sachs estimates roughly $25/barrell of oil). If you want to blame Obama for not aggressively attacking the speculators' ability to hoard contracts and manipulate the price of gasoline I will gladly join you on that front.

If, on the other hand, your argument is that if we simply drilled for more oil in ANWR or any other part of the US then we wouldn't be in this predicament then I would simply ask you to explain why we are paying $4 for gasoline today when the oil supplies are the same as they were several months ago when gas was $2.50/gallon....
