Real clear Politics.com takes the averages of all polls to come up with a blended number. While not scientific it does provide a good overall feel in elections
Nope, because Rasmussen floods the market. In the last few weeks of the last election for example, Rasmussen published five times as many polls as Quinnipiac. So RCP gave five times as much power to the crap Rasmussen polls as compared with the excellent ones from Quinnipiac.

For some campaigns Rasmussen polls every day. In those cases the poll replaces the poll from the day before, so it still only counts as one

Well in that case, never mind. I regret the error.

It is overwhelmingly the "will of the people" to sh!tcan the current Obamacare plan.
I was pleased to read today that, according to a new Associated Press-GfK poll, Americans do not in fact want to repeal the new Affordable Care Act.

The poll finds that 40 percent of those surveyed said they support the law, while 41 percent oppose it.

. . .

As for repeal, only about one in four say they want to do away with the law completely.

I realize this won't stop President Obama's opponents from continuing to claim that Americans want to repeal the ACA. Those people, some of whom lurk here, plainly prefer the world they wish existed to the one that actually does.

But it's nice to again have fresh objective evidence showing how very wrong they are.
Chilcoot, I have many conservative friends. Liberals too for that matter. I don't know anyone who wants the backdoor, pass it to read it, no committee input healthcare mandate repealed "COMPLETELY." Our healthcare system did need, and does need revision.
Just so you know. But, essentially adding 30,000,000 new Medicaid people and saying it will save money? Stuff like that is why Nancy Pelosi lost her job by such a resounding margin.
I'd like to agree with your point of view. But then both of us would be wrong. Bumpersticker that.

I do. Every Republican in Congress supports that point of view.

There is nothing that prevents them putting together a bill that repeals only the parts they allegedly object to. There is nothing that prevents them from concocting their own bill to intelligently address the healthcare problems in this country and offering that up. In fact, I believe their original slogan was to "repeal and replace" the Democrats' bill..... but thats not what they are doing. They are simply voting to repeal everything that was just passed - even the parts they claim to agree with.

How come? Largely because the parts of the bill they like are funded by the parts of the bill they dont like...and for all their crying and complaining they dont have a better way to fund the bill (probably why Bob Dole and Orin Hatch funded it the same way when they proposed it in 1994)

I see, so it's the "will of the people" to "sh!tcan the current Obamacare plan".

But no one you know wants to completely repeal it.

It's truly amazing the mental gymnastics some people will engage in to justify their hatred for this nation, its people, and its elected leaders.
They are constrained by a variety of requirements. Just to reiterate. They did have great ideas for reform. Interstate competition and tort reform for 2 of them. But they were never able to even propose any of their ideas because they had to do it in committee and (the now ex-) Speaker Pelosi refused to even consider them and rammed the whole pork barrel behind locked doors with only a few of her cronies present. And she's gone now as Speaker...and that is a major reason why.

There is a flaw to this poll. Most nationwide polls show the country as 48% Republican, 42% Democrat. This poll drops Republicans to 36%, while the Democrats stay at 42%. The 12 point drop in Republicans correspond to the 12 point drop in people against obamacare. Most polls continue to show obamacare at minus 10 points
Chilcoot, I totally agree with you on "It's truly amazing the mental gymnastics some people will engage in to justify their hatred for this nation, its people, and its elected leaders."
All we can do is hope those same people will come to appreciate Bush and Cheney as years go by.
