Well, I am usually facing the audience But seriously, I saw it three times last year and I will see it twice this time (Austin on 6/12 and LV). I think it's supposed to be the same but did you notice anything different?

Okay, I realize that we're all a bunch of old fogies here, but... is no one going to see a musical act that has actually had a hit record in the past decade?

JJ

JJ, we're going to see one of those older groups, the "Average White Band" and can't wait! But headlining that show is someone with a # of hits in the last decade - Brian Culbertson. And then while in Vegas on May 20th we're going to see Richard Elliot & Norman Brown. Yes, they are smooth jazz artists but I think they still count

Anyone else going to see someone w/hits in the last decade?

I think it was the same set as the show we saw last July in Sarnia, Ontario. Lots of fun, so powerful for only three musicians.

Back on topic, I enjoy road tripping to shows during the summer but nothing has caught my fancy yet.

Indulge me, please, while I continue with the "we're all a bunch of geezers" thing for a moment more.

Here's a list of the Top 10 singles on iTunes this week:

1. "Rolling In the Deep," ADELE
2. "E.T. (feat. Kanye West)," Katy Perry
3. "Just Can't Get Enough," Black Eyed Peas
4. "The Lazy Song," Bruno Mars
5. "Judas," Lady GaGa
6. "On the Floor (feat. Pitbull)," Jennifer Lopez
7. "Down On Me," Jeremih, 50 Cent
8. "Blow," Ke$ha
9. "Look At Me Now (feat. Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes)," Chris Brown
10. "Written In the Stars (feat. Eric Turner)," Tinie Tempah

How many have you heard?

Yeah, me neither. :-(

I love! love! love! Adele! What a voice! My favorite is her 1st U.S. hit "Chasing Pavements". And really like her newest hit "Rolling in the Deep"! She has a very soulful sound! Matter of fact, I just heard one of the contestants on "The Voice" tonight sing Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" If you missed it, it's on again tomorrow (Wed. Apr. 27) night. If you get a chance, check out Adele's music - you just might like it!

Some of the other hits you mentioned - I've heard of the artists and may have heard their songs. I'm better with listening & recognizing the song than knowing the song's title. BTW, I'm over 55 yrs. old just so you know I'm not one of those young 'uns
Someone once told me about this formula: When you're 16, you're pretty much expected to know every song on the Top 40 chart. (This was certainly true of me when I was 16)

For each year beyond that, you lose one. So, in 10 years, when you're 26, you might be familiar with only 30 of the Top 40 songs. By age 56, you won't know any of 'em. :-)

I just checked the first 40 songs on Billboards "Hot 100" (the closest I could find to a Top 40 chart), and I only knew 4 of them.

So my "Billboard age" is 52, or ten years older than my chronological age. Oh well...

And just as my parents thought that a lot of the sixties music was crap - i share that sentiment about much of the latest music.
I know that in the sixties for the most part, the more the parents hated the band the more the kids loved them - guess things don't change too much
