anyone else have a shooting at their casino?

Slowly typing this message. Last week I was playing blackjack at my local casino when I heard "Pop! Pop, pop, pop." Looked in that direction and saw people running. I grabbed my chips and ducked under the BJ table but realized it didn't offer much protection. Decided to run for the opposite exit. Fell down. Guy grabbed my arm and told me to keep running. Long story longer..... it was three guys having a fight outside the doors. No one looking to waste me. ;-) However, in my fall I broke my left hand. IT IS A TOTAL PAIN in many ways! Don't know how I'll type report card comments for 25 kids by next week!

The best part of your story is you grabbed your chips before doing anything else

Did anyone get shot? Glad you are ok.

Wow! Sorry to read that and I wish you a speedy recovery!

Yikes. also a speedy recovery and I hope you aren't a lefty.\

THis would never happen downtown!
years ago i was staying at the riv. 3:30 in the morning there were gunshots. they were filming the
classic movie 3000 miles to vegas featuring kevin costner and kurt russell.

saw costner in character as elvis playing blackjack the next day
I'm not sure if this counts. 4 years ago at Barona Casino, a fired gaming officer returned to the gaming office which is separate building from the casino, and blew the head off of the gaming commissioner with a shotgun for what he belived was over a bad job reference when he applied at another casino and didn't get the job. He was fired for inapproprate conduct when he was asked to stoping dating the women dealers at the casino, even though 1 or 2 other women dealers were pregnant from him at the same time he was dating these other women. He couldn't keep his zipper up, so they elected to fire him.
Talk about being a sore sport. I know that at Pala casino after this event, they put up bullet proof glass
at their gaming office when before they have a just walk in policy open door. Talk about having a bad hair day.............
I just don't find jokes about the murder of an innocent 43 year old man like gaming commissioner Raymundo Casillas to be funny. The guy was just doing his job, but got shot dead by some nut with a gun.

An Army vet, he was taken from his wife and their four children.

Just doesn't seem capable of being funny to me. But if that can be funny to others, well what can be said.
Not funny. There is a word. Inured. Sorry for the Casilla's loss. Violence in public often takes us by surprise. But lethal violence in gambling joints has been around, before and after it was legal. Bikers in Laughlin. People trailed and mugged happens all the time. I won't be surprised when metal detectors are installed. good luck!
Who made any jokes about it? Geez.

Too long ago to count, but friend and I were playing slots at Harrah's in the wee hours, nice and quiet. Slot gal told us they'd just had a robbery at the other end of the casino where the cage is. Several perps, guns drawn, shouting everyone to the floor, etc. Nobody hurt, thankfully. We never heard a thing. Creeps me out to think about it.

Teach, hope your arm is mending. Can't imagine how scared you must have been.
