Sometimes Christmas can be a bummer.

It's a lot of work and often melancholy as one gets older,

Like others have said Lt.ax49..... be grateful for what you got. Just stay busy on Christmas then... maybe watch Christmas Vacation to pass the time.

But always remember what Christmas is really about.
So sorry for your losses. It maks the holidays harder. Love the tree and go to the casino. Sounds like you need a little fun.
UPdate on the the bah-humbugs. Monday before Xmas was my birthday. Hubby was suppose to be at work so I went shopping to try and finish up things for the holidays and to delivery some baked goods to friends. Well my phone rings and it's hubby wanting to know what I was doing? He calls later and ask if I would be late?? Calls again and says I need to go home??? Turns out he was sitting at home waiting for me with a surprise overnight trip. Also with presents--part birthday and part 25th ann (that he forgot about a couple months ago). Was a very nice night-except for the phone call from the oldest who called to see what to do as he had his apartment broke into and robbed (got his computer, 2 game systems and a bunch of games-just what the kid needed/no insurance)

Then the Friday before Xmas-youngest got off early so was able to make it down about 5 hrs earlier than expected which was nice. Just as he pulled in about 10 pm we opened the door and there sitting in a heap was our presumed dead kitty. She had been missing for over a month. At 15 yrs old and being an out side cat we figured she had just wondered off somewhere to spend her last days. There she was limping badly and very thin and frail. We made her a nest and she is doing better

Hubby ended up not having to work the full day on Xmas--the one guy on shift who wanted off only took the first 4 hours so hubby was home by noon. Still ended up going to the boat and low and behold ended up hitting a royal.

Congrats!! Things are looking up.

Which boat did you hit the royal?
well heck. Forest Gump was right/Life IS like a box of chocolates!

Your 15 year old baby kitty came HOME after a OVER a month! (some adventure..)
Hubby remembered, kid came home early AND you hit a Royal..

thank you for getting back to us- not a great time o year for everyone.

sounds like you are loved, needed and appreciated; that's what matters
