The walk was great- the energy was high &swingin’.
My sober girlfriend Patty who will have a year this week wanted to join me- good thing she did—never found my STV group—she (Patty) is better at getting free stuff than i am so we got brown bag lunches and a bunch of freebie swag including Armani designed t-shirts and energy drinks—it was 60 degrees and over cast w./ some rain drops but the body heat of 45,000 people worked out fine.
I hate crowds but what can you do- Right in front of me in a cherry-picker was Dot-Marie Jones/ Coach Beastie on Glee in person w/ a mega-phone—she looks exactly how she look on TV encouraging us and shouting good morning walkers!!! She made my day!!
it was a shuffle in some places due to crowds but we found some holes as the walk continued. Central Park is Lush w/ green sights and smells and we made to the finish line 10-1:40pm- grabbed as much as we could carry in our bags and backpack. (Doritos, muffins, apples, granola bars, condoms, Gatorade, energy shots) I even found a Levi jacket my size…
and the volunters were awesome and many-- place was beinjg picked up and all garbage was removed-- got Turkey Hill frozen yogert fudge swirl handed to us at the finish line- music , dragqueens-- it was as we said in the 70's... a happening.
I have more donations coming in too.
A long hot shower and Advil set me straight and I’m fine today
