Quick history. The avatar I use is of our late dog Amy who passed away from cancer much too young. For nearly 7 years she was a registered therapy dog and we volunteered at Shriners Children's Hosptial here in Tampa working with the kids.
After she passed it took us awhile but we eventually adopted another Golden from Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid Florida (a group we now volunteer with as well). Riley came to us at 7 1/2 months old and is now 21 months old. After about 10 months we decided he needed a playmate and adopted Chase who was then 10 months old and is now 14 months old (also from mid Florida).
Well yesterday, after much training, both boys passed their therapy dog test! After we get all the paperwork taken care of we plan on once again volunteering at Shriners and also working at the local library with the kids reading to dogs program.
Trust me when I say that when I heard they both passed yesterday it was even more exciting then a dealt royal!
