Actually, according to the news that information was not obtained during waterboarding but during regular interrogation. The person interrogated was waterboarded on previous occasions though.

About 180 times over 6 years to be exact. I guess the first 179 times didn't yield the desired result - it was that 180th time that did the trick ! I'd say thats rock soild proof about the effectiveness of enhanced interrogation techniques

Given your history here, I have my suspicions about how you gather facts, but feel you should have a chance to explain why you think what you do.

Chilcoot- While it is nice to forgive, I wonder what your reaction would be if you or yours were the objects of terrorism and the terrorists came back for seconds while you turned the other cheek. There are times when you can only get through to an animal (terrorists) by giving them a dose of there own medicine. I am personally glad to know that you are not in charge of the defense of our nation.

In my first comment, I made the point that we should not let terrorists alter our values. Why grant them that power?

In my second comment, I questioned an assertion that OBL was killed as a result of intelligence gleaned through waterboarding. No evidence I've seen supports that claim. In fact, the reporting I've seen (and linked) indicates just the opposite.

I didn't write anything about forgiveness or turning the other cheek. For some reason, you simply didn't understand what I wrote.

Who really cars if he was armed or not. There were over 2900 people that were not armed on 9/11/01. They say the pictures of him are too gruesome to be shown. I will never forget as long as I live people jumping from windows on 9/11 that was gruesome. We need to get the hell out of there and let them kill each other now. I hope Washington gets enough pressure to start bring home our troops. As someone posted earlier I hope all of the 32 virgins thats supposed to greet him are all lesbians.

I have this image in my head of him pulling a batch of brownies out of the oven and turning around to see a full squad of special ops dudes with AK-47s. Its kinda funny.
