Another legend is gone. "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" is one of my all-time favorite pieces of music. Lester Flatt died in 1979, I believe.

Amazing musician - his music will continue to inspire.
How many movies was Foggy Mountain in?
Deliverance, Burt Renyolds series of Smokey and the Bandit-- Eternal music.
Flat & Scruggs...killer sound.
Been on Utube the last two days listening to him in different shows, venues and such.
R.I.P. Earl-- your music was a land mark victory. thank you thank you

P.S.
I got way laided into some Tom Jones varity shows, watched him sing Delta Lady w/ a cleaned up Joe Cocker... so trippy. pants did not get tighter than this circa 1972-76
