? For Techies

For making our sales goal this year my company gave us I pads. Since I have never been an early adapter of technology it was not on my buying radar.

My question - What do I do with it & why shouldn't I sell it on E-bay?
One can do with an iPad almost (but not quite) anything one could do with a regular ol' computer. Surf the web. Check e-mail. Play games (including VP). Listen to music. Watch movies. Read eBooks. Look at photographs. Check your calendar. Etc.

You can do the internet stuff from anywhere you can get Wi-Fi. It has a very, very portable and user-friendly form factor. Think of it like a super-thin netbook with a touch-screen interface.

So all you need to do is figure out how much value you attach to the above. Then figure out what you're likely to get from it on eBay. The only reason you shouldn't sell it on eBay is if the former is greater than the latter.

Oh, and you can also play the accordion on it.

Worth keeping if it came with a service contract.

If you have no use for it, you could probably get an easy $500 on eBay, depending on which model it is (# of GBs, and 3G/No 3G.)

Hey Hoops,

Before you sell it on ebay, let me know how much you want for it. I'm very interested if you are not.

Santa didn't get my last minute appeal or maybe I was too naughty this year?

Thanks

Stumerrian got one too-- he's as much of a techie as you- so I suggest you flounder around together/ PM me and I'll give you his e-mail.

Play w/ it!!!! I hear it's a wonderment of the 21 century
I started laughing when I read your post. I just picked one up, courtesy of HET. I'm afraid to break the plastic wrap and open the box. It's the lowest model (only $535 after tax...know wonder their stock is so high) and I am wondering the same things, "What do I do with it" and Why should I want it?

Using it as I type, have decided I like it. Will use the book feature, as it will be easier to use on my daily commute

Learning as I go! Find it easier to access my e-mail at home as I don't have to sit at my desk. It is also very fast! Plan on reading books with it, downloading photos, although I have to buy a $30 kit to get the photos from my camera. Since it is so portable I can use the Internet as I watch sports.

It is tricky using the scrolling.

Although it is possible to charge the battery thru the computer I find it is easier to charge it off an electrical outlet.

Sure there are other features to learn about.
