The Free Market Sucks at Health Care

"Money was stolen from the entitlement programs by unregulated corporations and unreconciled tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans. So, of course, the fair solution is to further punish the recipients of those entitlements to the benefit of the same people who robbed them. "

No, the money was used by the govt to fund day to day operations. If the federal govt was a private company the board of directors would be indicted for fraud.

You can't seem to get the concept that if we taxed the rich at 100% we would still have a deficit & if we taxed them at 500% ther still wouldn't be money for the $60,000 billion unfunded deficit The problem is spending!

Yesterday, bambam when pressed on his shovel ready ready jobs stimulus program laughed it off by saying that I guess there really not that many shovel ready jobs; OOPS another $1,000 billion down the drain
I can solve Health Care and Social Security with three little words..

DNR

As it relates to Health Care it stands for Do Not Resuscitate. It means we as indivuals have a responsibility to society to have living wills such that society doesn't spend half a million dollars keeping our vegetable bodies alive in a hospital bed for an extra 6 months past the end of our useful lives. Let's make this decision as individuals to just let it go at the end...End of Life costs are eating up a huge % of our heathcare dollars and it's going to get worse unless WE take control of our own deaths.

DNR

As it relates to Social Security...Do Not Retire. Let's all just work 'till we die. We set up an unsustainable retirement system anyway...might as well just keep on working...it will help the economy with more tax payers and fewer entitlement collectors. The trick is to get a job or own a business you really like and can do when you're old.

Any Questions?
It's probably not a good sign that other nations point to the US health care system and promise their people they won't develop a health care system like ours.

"We will not be selling off the NHS, we will not be moving towards an insurance scheme, we will not introduce an American-style private system," Prime Minister David Cameron emphatically told a group of healthcare workers in a nationally televised address last week.

In case they didn't hear it the first time, Cameron repeated the dreaded "A"-word in a list of five guarantees he offered the British people at the end of his speech.

"If you're worried that we're going to sell off the NHS or create some American-style private system, we will not do that," he said. "In this country we have the most wonderful, precious institution and also precious idea that whenever you're ill … you can walk into a hospital or a surgery and get treated for free, no questions asked, no cash asked. It is the idea at the heart of the NHS, and it will stay. I will never put that at risk."

LA Times

Quite something to see perhaps our greatest ally promise not to inflict an American-style health care system on his nation
Basically political rhetoric much like what the democrats are saying regarding the deficit talks

It doesn't matter what England does & there are significant concerns about it's sustainability because the US cannot afford it's present commitments ($60,000 billion deficit), nevermind the additional liabilities of obamacare

If left to England's health care, my cousin would of died. She having seizures and everytime she went to the MD (after a 40 day wait) she was shoved out of the office in 10 minutes. (She has their public system not private healthcare)

After almost a year, she finally came to the US had a minor surgery and the seizures stopped.

Yeah, I cannot wait to get to their health care.
