GOP Revisionism

The Reagan I knew was a pragmatist. He raised taxes several times because it needed to be done. He was not at all shy about jumping up the debt limit. He granted amnesty to kagillions of so-called "illegals." He grew the federal bureaucracy and the federal budget. (We'll forget his tax increases and extremely pro-choice actions as governor.)

The putative heirs to the Great Communicator might want to brush up on history, though as Palin has proven over and over, facts just serve to get in the way.

We need a Ron Paul/Hillary Clinton ticket.

Yesterday, this nut-job friend of mine tried to argue that Clinton signed the Patriot Act in, not G.W. Bush.

I'm all for Ron Paul but he doesn't have a chance in heck

No one died when Clinton lied.

When Clinton lied, morality and self responsibility reached a new low. The word loathsome immediately comes to mind when his name is mentioned.

No love lost here for Reagan, but,
Paul & Hilary? Sounds like a good ticket to me. I'd vote for them.

I'm not sure who scares me more....Paul or Hilary.

Anyone who says it doesn't matter when Iraq has a nuclear weapon is a loon.
Anyone who would stay in a loveless marriage with a cheater for power has moral character I cannot trust.

It is no wonder that Palin / Bachman scare so many people.

Meanwhile bambam's approval ratings are at 40% and dropping. His big speech before a joint session of Congress is now being downplayed by saying more details will be revealed later - then why have a joint session then?

Hate to disappoint the liberals, particularly the msnbc pundits, but Bachman/Paul/Palin are not going to get the nomination.

With 23 seats up for re-election, it is also a real possibility that the democrats will lose control of the senate & could lose up to 12 seats

Obama does not need any help failing. Those who work and have paid the way for the freeloaders tired of his act long ago.

bambam is the president and for 2 years had overwhelming majorities in the senate as well as the house & to this day still control the Senate. The democrats passed the stimulus bill which was supposed to keep unemployment under 8%. congress also passed bills that were going to create a million "green" jobs. obamacare was supposed to create jobs. he also promised to cut the deficit in half. None of this has worked.

The Republicans were unable to stop any of this legislation but somehow are blamed. Congress while under complete control of the democrats could not pass a budget last year and the democratic Senate hasn't passed a budget this year; so the US govt has not had a budget in 2 years.

Blaming Republicans is a good bambam/pelosi/reid talking point but does not stand up to scrutiny
