I survived a car wreck

It happened June 12th just after 12 noon. I was on my way back from shopping at Wal Mart when I either fell asleep at the wheel or blacked out. Next thing I knew I was being helped in an ambulance and on my way to the ER.
By a miracle, I had no broken bones or lost teeth. But I was still covered in blood. The cuts have started to heal though my nose is still a mess. And now came the summons to court for July 3rd. Being I don't drink or use drugs, I have no explanation for how this happened. The car was totaled, my 1995 Corolla with just over 85,000 miles on it. I had it since day one but it's now history. I know if something had to go, better that than me.
It's also amazing I've had virtually no pain throughout this ordeal. Any crying I've done is because of all the people I've forced to do extra work as a result. Had to be back at the hospital yesterday for an EEG and then later an MRI. The 1st was no problem but the MRI was torture.
I had no inkling or forewarning this accident was about to occur. I always try to drive so carefully but it doesn't seem to have been enough. Well I guess before I plan my next Las Vegas trip, will have to shop for another Corolla.

Soooo very glad you came out of it in one piece, Tim.

Any history of seizures, or heart problems?
Sounds like you have some medical specialists working on it.

And, two words to remember in your car search: Air bags.

Glad to hear you're alright, if only mostly. To just pass out at midday like that, wow. Hope they can isolate why so that you can avoid having a similar incident.

Heal up and be thankful, these kinds of things can result in a lot of deaths and injuries. Sounds like a lot of safety planning, good care, and maybe some good fortune really paid off here.
Wow good that you escaped with so little damage to your body.

My friend passes out like that , he FINALLY had a "tilt test" and flunked his blood pressure drops for no reason . His heart is fine but they have him on med's to raise and stabilize his blood pressure. Hope they find what caused you to pass out, it can be very frustrating.

Glad to hear you're alright. When I first saw the topic I thought we'd be talking ex-wives! Seriously, be sure to pursue an answer to your medical condition. Not likely that you fell asleep while driving which points to some sort of circulatory problem. I was recently diagnosed with A-Flutter, close cousin to that popular A-Fib you here about on tv all the time now. I caught a major symptom by accident, got treated and on meds in about a six hour span. I didn't have dizziness or blackouts, although those are possible symptoms, as is a stroke! Follow through since it can be very crucial. Once again, glad you're ok.

Good Luck!

Thank you all for all the good wishes. I thought after these last few days I might somehow remember more about the accident but I don't. They claim there was no proof of insurance but I do have it. For now, all the wounds and cuts are healing fast, maybe due to so much humidity here in the Chicago area.

Tim
Hi Tim,

Wow! I'm very happy that you weren't injured badly in this incident! Did you have enough sleep before this incident? Were you maybe actually very tired when this happened?

Take care and I wish you a very speedy recovery!

Just a guess, have your blood sugar numbers checked for diabetes.
