I'm just about done here.......

LVA has been going slowly down hill lately. All the people I liked talking to are moving on. I've been lurking for years. I've been second guessing about renewing my subscription to LVA for a few months now.

Suddenly, I get a private message from "TanyaM". She wants me to resize my avatar or replace it because she doesn't think it's 120x120. Seriously.......

Right click my avatar. What are the dimensions? 120x120. Amazing right?

So I explain this to her/him/whatever and she just repeats it....again.

The dimensons of my avatar on this forum are 120x120. It's not hard to see, it's pretty simple. Basic internet forum skills right? Apparently not.

I suppose this TanyaM is some sort of forum moderator or works for LVA. Guess what. If a moderator of this forum can't figure out that 120x120 = 120x120 then no wonder people aren't coming back.

I pay my yearly subscription to get someone nagging me about a forum avatar.....when they can't even use common sense to right-click and see I am following the rules?

My subscription is up for renewal in May and I can't see a serious reason to resubscribe. I can deal with not using the MRB. I can't deal with people who don't listen or don't know what they are talking about.

There are plenty of people who are actually in violation of this "rule" whose avatars actually exceed the 120x120 size. Lets focus on me though.

If you are unable to understand the many complex issues relating to images and how to use a resizing/hosting site, then perhaps you should not be raising a stink in several threads.

I have deleted your OVERSIZED image (600x600). They have classes that can teach you about modern browsers.

I'll miss you Calipso, take it easy.
Hi Calipso
If you click on your image, then click on get size, it is quite a bit larger than 120 x 120. I just tried it to see. and it is about 600.
Having said that, I don't see why it is such a big deal. I for one hope that you stay.
The big deal for me is the time these forums take to load - and despite many complaints, from many people - they haven't improved.
I moderate a forum - larger that this one - with more members and guests on line at any one time that this one - and it loads in one second. Really!
Try it and see - pacificnorthwestflying.com - See? It is FAST!!!
Now why can't this forum load as fast as that one?
That needs attention. Other than the speed, I must say that I am generally happy with the service, content and value that I receive.
I hope that you reconsider - I enjoy reading your posts

I also hope you stay, but I think you are just echoing the sentiments of a lot of people on this forum.

Amen to your comments. But, on the plus side, it takes so long for the pages to load that it hardly matters what is actually said. By the time it comes up, you have stopped caring.
From what I'm now understanding about all of this (Avatar and Photos Size stuff), the larger photos and avatars further slow down the loading of the forums and threads.

I'm now viewing this website through www.skweezer.com (for mobile devices) and from what I am personally seeing, Calipso's Avatar is actually coming out quite large (a lot larger than other Avatars that are currently posted here).

So, let me get this strait. This whole thread is about the size of your avatar. For me I just have a couple of questions. 1. Has a woman seen your avatar and can verify the actual size? 2. Is bigger really better? For me, I think you should stay. If I've learned any thing over the years it's this. No matter what you say or do, there is always some-one who will tell you you're wrong.
