Mammoth trip

Well, we finally settled on Mammoth and the Sierra for our late-summer trip. Canada was turning into a timing hassle, Bend would've been great if we had a few more days and already done Hawaii twice this year, with another work trip coming up in October, so we figured we'd keep it closer to home. We're gonna do some basic mountain biking (Terri's first time), drink plenty of brews at Mammoth Brewing, kayak Mono Lake, play some golf and hike, and just generally kick it in the mountains. Can't wait!!

Oh, and Vegas is actually on the radar come November!
Mono Lake is gorgeous. Enjoy!
Sounds like a great get away trip Ken. Take lots of pics and share with us upon return.
Well, am up for the brews at least

Seriously, enjoy and look forward to both the pics and after action report!

Are you driving through Yosemite then? When Tioga pass is closed, it's a 500 mile drive to Mammoth Lakes from Fresno. As the crow flies, it's about 80 miles. Those Sierra Nevada mountains are quite a a wonderful obstacle.
On the eve before leaving Phoenix, the weather forecaster said he didn't see anything on the radar except for a blip in the Sierras. That storm found us as we drove north from Bishop and stayed with us until we were 30 minutes or so from Tahoe.

I look forward to a future trip to Mono Lake and spending time at Mammouth.

Per Ken's recommendation, we stopped at the world renowned bakery in Bishop
