Movies, anyone?

Does anyone have any movies to recommend? I have a lot of days off this week.

I did got to see THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO last night. I enjoyed it, liked the casting. I have a video of the earlier version of the movie that I've never watched. Think I might give that a go this weeend.

I saw Tin Tin with my brother's family over Christmas. We all noticed that we kept forgetting it was animation. I remember noticing that the scene transition were really neat visually. It's not a movie I would have picked, but I enjoyed it.

Okay, maybe I just like about any movie I go to see. My next pick is Sherlock Holmes, which I know I will love. AFter that I'm running out of movie ideas.
We've sen all the movies you mention. I felt that Sherlock Holmes was just OK. We did see War Horse last night which is an incredible story with incredible cinematography and a great cast (including the horse and the goose). Definitely worth the trip.

Red Tails on 20th Jan
IMO, The old movie are the best ...........

Have you seen "Stalag 17" starring William Holden?

What about the "Sands of Iwo Jima" starring John Wayne ?

How about one my all time favorites, "Sea of Love" starring Al Pacino ?

Ever see "Young Man with a Horn" starring Kirk Douglas and Lauren Bacall ?

Another great movie with fantastic scenic shots is "Jeremiah Johnson" starring Robert Redford.

That was on TV last night.......hubby was watching.........Good movie, but kinda sad. I watched Other stuff.

I would suggest The Help, if you havent' seen it yet.
LOL;
Joan Rivers comment on The Help was:
"I fell asleep, does the house get cleaned or what..?!??"
Just got the DVD of The Help from Screen Actors Guild. I've seen it, so I hope I get some more DVD's of movies I haven't seen. This is a marvelous film that is going to win awards.

I'm very out of sync with movies right now since I haven't had but a couple of days off since Halloween.

I also recommend "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". The story was much the same as the Swedish version, except all the Swedish people now speak english. Damned decent of them!

I recommend the film "Shame". May be a little hard to find in Iowa City. A rare film loaded with sex scenes that are actually important to the plot. Not a happy film, but you get caught up in the lives of two very confused souls. Only for serious film-goers, I would think.

Sorry i'm not more up to the minute.

I loved the Dragon Tattoo Characters...but I found the plot to be a snoozer.

I saw a hilarious movie on DVD - "Cedar Rapids". It has the dentist-dude from the Hangover in it and John C Reiley. Its a real giggler.
I second "WarHorse".

Saw it on opening day (Christmas), and totally loved it.
"What About Bob"

One of my FAV funny movies.......Richard Dreyfus & Bill Murray.......was just on TV, and I watched it.
Hadn't seen if a long time, but still makes me laugh.

Nevadaned-- SAG just sent a list of the movies we will be receiving on dvd and includes MONEYBALL.
Yay, I FINALLY get to See it. A few other good ones (I don't recall) and some are just downloads.
