My Oscar Ranking

I have to agree with JJ. Hailee Steinfeld absolutely blew me away with her performance in "True Grit." The fact that it was her first film made it even more amazing. I know that there is a tendency to give the award to the more experienced actress, and Melissa Leo was also wonderful, but Hailee may not get another chance as this could be her role of a lifetime (remember Tatum O'Neal in "Paper Moon"?).

Best picture is, most likely, going to "The King's Speech" and I have no problem with that.

I enjoyed "The Social Network" as I did not know the history. If the movie is holding closely to the facts, then the idea was stolen and the prick got away with it. I think I better copyright my plans for my new mouse trap, just in case.

I plan to be watching in my room at Showboat AC on Sunday night. This is my custom with the Oscars and the Tonis every year.

Nice Tradition Nevadaed.

I was thinking the same comparison, with Tatum O'Neal. Good call.

I think Best Picture DID Win. Kings Speech, Great job. Loved humble Colin Furth.........

But, I gotta say, it was the most Boring Oscars...........

James Franco.................STANK- O
He could barely look the tv monitor in the eye........ seemed to have No personality, except, grin alittle, clap, and look away. Hes Not a Host, let alone emcee. Bbbb-boring.

When Billy Crystal walked out on stage, we started changing........Bring Back Billy, Bring Back Billy!!! LOL

I just watched 127 Hours for the second time and really thought Danny Boyle did an outstanding treatment of a book that I have loved for years. I have been using the book with my English 12 class for several years and ordered the video of Tom Brokaw's trip back to spot with Aron Ralston. My last English 12 class before I retire will get to see the movie. (I do highly recommend the book also: Between a Rock and a Hard Place by Aron Ralston.)

I haven't seen The King's Speech yet--may take that in tomorrow. I also thoroughly enjoyed True Grit.

Finally caught The King's Speech this weekend. Good but it seemed a lot like myIntro to speech pathology class in college. I loved Helena Bonham Carter's character! But I did think True Grit should have wom Besst Pic, we are watching 127 in class this week before spring break. I also really liked Inception. And Black Swan. Still need to see The Figher.

Inception was. The winters bone--what was that? We certainly never got it here
