Hi All,

Ah! That one is so sad, Tony. It’s “Mr. Lonely” by Bobby Vinton.

A little up-tempo ditty:

The movie wasn’t so hot, it didn’t have much of a plot

Wake Up Little Susie
Everly Brothers first - then Simon and Garfunkel

****************NEW*******************

Another up-tempo

Gliddy glup gloopy, nibby nabby noopy la la la lo lo.
Sabba sibby sabba nooby abba nabba le le lo lo,

Tonyrob

That's Good Morning Starshine, by Oliver.

How 'bout:

She broke my heart, I really showed it

Some more lines, and a few hints:

I walk around, thinkin' about her
Never thought I could live without her
She broke my heart, I really showed it
Look at me now, you'd never know it

The song was a #3 hit on the US charts in 1962.

The artist had earlier formed a successful doo-wop group with some friends who lived on Belmont Avenue in the Bronx, but he sang this song with a different backup group after he split with the original.

Hmmm. The singer must be Dion. Could the song be Runaround Sue?

Good Morning All,

It looks familiar, but I don’t recall what it is.

Looks like this one isn't going to work.

Dion is correct. The name of the song is Lovers Who Wander.

Let's try this one from 1970:

Dress up tonight, why be lonely?

That be “Celebrate” by Three Dog Night.

This goes back to 1960, but was a big hit in 1969:

Don't you know, I sit around with my head hanging down

For some reason, I can barely remember that one. Something like Who's Lovin' You. I think it was done by the Jackson 5, so I assume that's the 1969 version. Can't really remember a 1960 version.

If I'm right, I'll try this one from 1981. I heard it on the radio earlier today. It was a #2 hit in the US (#7 in the UK):

You make a grown man cry

Another great from Mr Motown - Smokey Robinson - who also recorded it with the Miracles.

OK - Jim has one up -

That one made a lot of money - especially after Microsoft picked it up.

Start Me Up - Stones
