Name the song the line is from Part II

Well, I know that one, Cyn.

It's (Let's Give 'Em) Something To Talk About, by Bonnie Raitt. Good one!

This is from 1977:

It's a bitch, girl
But it's gone too far
'Cause you know
It don't matter anyway

I thought it was "You're a rich girl
And you've gone too far"

but maybe that was a different verse, and you're right- it doesn't matter.

In a minute I'll think of the song's name.

(edited to add) Oh, "Rich Girl" was the title so you couldn't use that line.

What about:

"I have no kick against modern jazz
Unless they try to play it too darn fast
And change the beauty of the melody
Until it sounds just like a symphony."
It’s nice to see some Chuck Berry on the thread again. That’s “Rock and roll Music”.

Here’s an old standard (1939):

Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
'Til the blue skies
Drive the dark clouds far away

Edit: Bad paste

That's We'll Meet Again. Can't remember the singer's name.

Just for fun, from 1963:

Two girls for every boy

Oh boy, some Jan and Dean. This one is “Surf City”.

BTW, "We'll Meet Again" was made famous by a British singer named Vera Lynn. It has been used in a few T.V. shows, movies and sung by stage performers too.

How easy is this?

I got married to the widow next door
Gawd, the English people go crazy for that song when Barry sings it live; we'll meet again...

Hen-er-y the Vlll --Herman/ Hermits. but I beg you not to dumb down the lyrics anymore... make us think-- same era as Cyn

You are my Candy, girl- and you got me wantin' YOuuuuuuuuuuu
I guess it shouldn’t surprise me that you should have that record too, N’cat. Did it ever come out on CD? Yours is “Sugar, Sugar” by Ron Dante.

I don’t know if this is dumbed down or not:

Good evening sweet darling
May I ask your name?
You seem to be lonely
Well don't worry I'm feeling the same
Does anyone want a hint, or are you still thinking on it?

It's not ringing any bells for me, Cyn. A hint couldn't hurt.

I can hear a male singing that last line but the the title doesn't come to mind.
