A few more lines, and a hint or two:
I know a girl who's soft and sweet
She's so fine she can't be beat
Got everything that I desire
Sets the summer sun on fire
This one is a little bit...strange. As noted, it's from 1965. A press release at the time claimed that this musical trio consisted of brothers Giles, Miles, and Niles Strange, from Australia. Supposedly, they had become rich from their sheep farming business, and now had the time and financial wherewithal to start a band. It was all bogus. They were actually three guys from New York. One of them was Bob Feldman, who, six years later, would become the father of actor Corey Feldman.
Why the trio felt the need to create this elaborate hoax has never been made clear. This song peaked at #11 on the US charts, and also did well in Canada. Ironically, or perhaps deservedly, it failed to chart in Australia.
Edit: BTW, the "famous beat" to which I referred in my previous post is sometimes called the Bo Diddley beat.
