Name the song the line is from Part II

I like it by Lyle Lovett

That's the Glory,... that's the Story of Love.

Look into my eyes, my love, and see
All the lovely things you are to me.
"The Shadow of Your Smile?" Don't know who sang it.

BTW, J-M, I love "The Glory of Love" by Bette Midler. Just watched "Beaches" for the umpteenth time a couple of weeks ago, lol.

Here's an easy one --

"Got on board a westbound 747"

That's It Never Rains In Southern California, by Albert Hammond.

I think that one dates back to the early 70s. So does this one:

I'm no prophet, and I don't know nature's ways

Good Morning All,

Good one, Jim. What a classic! That’s “Anticipation” by Carly Simon.

Here’s a pretty tune from 1970:

But now I feel such emptiness within
for the thing that I want most in life's the thing that I can't win.

That's a very pretty song, indeed. I liked it a lot. Snowbird, by Anne Murray.

Life was simpler in 1963, and song lyrics at the time generally reflected that fact:

Pitter-patter, pitter-patter

This is a “Shot in the dark”, Jim. There’s a line just like that in “When Sunny gets blue”. I love that song from my Johnny Mathis CD. But something tells me it could be from something else too. I’ll wait for your ruling.

That wasn't the song I had in mind, but you're right, those exact lyrics are in When Sunny Gets Blue. So, I don't see how I can say you're wrong.

You're up, pal.

(I was thinking of Rhythm Of The Rain, by the Cascades)

Okay, I submit this:

Well the names have all changed since you hung around
But those dreams have remained and they've turned around

Hint, por favor?

This singer was the lead in a popular group and this song was his only top 40 solo hit.
The song was a TV theme song and went to # 1 in 1976.

I'll give more lines if nobody gets it in the morning.
