Name the song the line is from Part II

I don't go to bars much anymore, but I did then. I definitely heard that one more than a few times on the jukebox.

It's Don't Come Home A' Drinkin' With Lovin' On Your Mind. I know it was late 60s, and I think it was probably Loretta Lynn?

OK, this one hit #1 in May, 1967:

Is it real?
Is it fake?
Is this game of life a mistake?

Oh yeah, I like that Holland-Dozier-Holland stuff, Jim. Good one. That’s “The Happening” by the Supremes.

I’m taking a risk on this group once more. They bombed on me twice before, but I really like them. So, let’s see who remembers this trouble maker:

Way past one, and feeling alright
'Cause with ______ _____ round
they can last all night
Hey down, stay down, stay down down

Putting those blanks (i.e., the song title) in the lyrics helped a lot, Cyn.

It's Little Willy, by Sweet.

This one is from the mid-70s:

I learned my lesson, it left a scar
Now I see how you really are

How did you hear the lyrics when you were praying to the porcelain God ?

Jim’s latest is “You’re no good” by Betty Everett and later by Linda Ronstadt.

One from 1976:

If you feel like leaving
you know you can go
But why don't you stay until tomorrow?

"Sarah Smile " Hall and Oates maybe ?

new.......

They will not listen to anyone
So nobody tells them a lie
Good one, Phil. That’s “An innocent man” by Billy Joel.

A 1970 hit:

She said,
That aint the way to have fun, son
That aint the way to have fun, no
"Momma Told Me Not to Come" 3 dog night

Through your tears you look around
But there's no peace of mind to be found
Another Holland-Dozier-Holland song? It makes me want to break out the Motown CDs again. That one is “Reach out, I’ll be there” by the Four Tops.

This one may be too easy:

There’s a choice we’re makin’
We’re savin’ our own lives
It’s true, we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

Jesus, Phil, ain't you ever been to a bar? They pipe the sound in everywhere. The best place to hear the lyrics is in the can, man.

Edited to insert a comma between the words 'Jesus' and 'Phil,' because there's no messiah named Jesus Phil.
