Name the song the line is from Part II

Good Morning All,

I’m sorry I missed “Losing My Religion”. I really like that one. Let’s see, how would I like to start this day on the thread?

This sweet one will do. It’s from 1961:

Then I went far away,
and you found someone new
I read your letter, dear,
and I wrote back to you

That's Roses Are Red, by Mr. Bobby Vinton. Sweet it was.

Some 1981 here:

It's a big enough umbrella
But it's always me that ends up getting wet

Let's try some additional lines, including the rather long 7-word title, and a hint or two:

Do I have to tell the story
Of a thousand rainy days since we first met?
It's a big enough umbrella
But it's always me that ends up getting wet

_____ ______ _____ ___ ____ __ _____
Everything she do just turn me on
Even though my life before was tragic
Now I know my love for her goes on

The singer is infatuated with a girl and wants to talk to her, but he becomes nervous, flustered, and tongue-tied and ends up doing goofy things whenever she's around.

It's an English band that performed as a trio throughout most of its existence.

The lead singer got his lifelong one-word nickname as a young man, after appearing onstage wearing a sweater with alternating black and yellow horizontal stripes.

If the band were French rather than English, they might have called themselves Les Gendarmes.

That must be The Police with “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic”. It’s another 80s song that I didn’t notice many of the words. But, I liked it for the tune.

This is a little sad, but pretty:

You give your hand to me,
And then you say, "Goodbye."
I watched you walk away,
Beside the lucky guy

I loved that song, Cyndee. It's You Don't Know Me. The version I remember was done by Ray Charles in the early 60s.

Next, this song was first recorded 1967, but due to a contractual dispute it wasn't released as a single until 1970. It's about an imaginary childhood friend:

Young girl with fire
Something said she understood
I wanted to fly
She made me feel like I could

That’s a big favorite of mine, Jim. I think the arrangements on it are just grand. It’s “Shilo” by Neil Diamond.

I hear this pretty often on the radio:
You little doll
All you do is play
You’ve got a new baby ev’ry day

I used to like him a lot way back when. They hardly ever play him on the radio here, though.

"Him" would be Bobby Rydell, singing Wild One. Wild One = Good One!

From 1966:

Every time I see that girl
You know I wanna lay down and die
But I really need that girl
Though I'm living a lie

Don't pay the ransom, I escaped !

I Saw Her Again....The Mamas and Papas did it after Gary Lewis and the Playboys as I remember.

new lyrics and a hint

Come on let's all celebrate
Lovely lady, lady, I love you

tough finding lines without the title as it's highly repetitive

Jeez, I hope Phil doesn't find out that we had already decided we weren't going to pay the ransom.

Ladies Night, by Kool and the Gang?

OK, the version of this one that most folks remember was first released in 1967, and re-released in 1969:

If you hear the song I sing
You will understand (listen!)

Gotta go for a while. Back later.

I’m fairly sure that’s “Get Together” by Youngbloods.

A happy one from 1967:
