Name the song the line is from Part II

Another good one, slowpoke!

That's Undun, by Guess Who. Pretty damn good for a B-side. I bought most of their 45s back then, at least when I could afford to. Was the A-side Laughing?

OK, since we're on Canadian groups, this melancholy 1972 thing topped the charts in Canada, and reached #9 in the US:

Be careful how you touch her, for she'll awaken
And sleep's the only freedom that she knows
And when you walk into her eyes, you won't believe
The way she's always payin' for a debt she never owes

I love that song, it’s so pretty. It’s "Wildflower" by Skylark. I didn’t know they were from Canada.

Here’s another pretty one, this time from 1970:

And time washes clean
love's wounds unseen
That's what someone told me
but I don't know what it means.

Linda Rondstadt - Long Time

Here's one from early seventies

Even though the pain and heartache
Seems to follow me wherever I go
Though I try and try to hide my feelings
They always seem to show
Then you try to say you're leaving me
And I always have to say no

Nice, jlang. That would be Never Can Say Goodbye, by The Jackson 5. I can hear Michael's voice in my head. He was still just a kid when they did that one.

Too early. Need coffee. Easy one (I think?) from 1965:

People put me down
'Cause that's the side of town
I was born in

Down in the Boondocks.

Post another one, Jim, after you've had your coffee, lol. My brain isn't awake yet.
OK, here's one we haven't done ...

The taste of love is sweet
When hearts like ours meet

Absolutely loved the mariachi horns! That's Ring Of Fire, by Johnny Cash.

This one may flop, but it's all I can think of at the moment. It was a #12 hit in 1977:

So let's leave it alone
'Cause we can't see eye to eye
There ain't no good guys
There ain't no bad guys
There's only you and me
And __ ____ ________

We Just Disagree---- some decent harmony band like Little River band.. not sure of the group.

a beautiful sight
we're happy tonight
"Walking in a Winter Wonderland"

Where'd that come from?

Those happy hours
That we once knew
Though long ago,
Still make me blue.....

This song is unusual in that the artist doesn't sing its title. The chorus sings it, and he sings the rest, often following their lead.

Damn, I was close.

Since we're still in October, I thought noahcat's lyrics were probably from Carving Up The Pumpkin Face By Hand. Oh, well.

Bard's lyrics are from I Can't Stop Loving You, by Ray Charles. Great song.
