Name the song the line is from Part II

Ah, yes. Elton John was singing about his friend “Nikita”. That’s a really nice one, Jim.

Going back to 1976:

I never knew there was so much love
keeping me warm night and day.

Good one - When I Need You - Leo Sayer and several others

Don't you even try telling me
That you really don't want me to end this way

Tonyrob

That's a good one right there, Tony.

It's early Moody Blues (maybe '64 or '65?), singing Go Now. Justin Hayward hadn't joined the band yet, so they had a different lead singer at the time.

This one first came out of the speakers in 1970:

I pushed her away
I walked to the door
I fell to the floor
I got down on my knees

I'm still a big fan of that song!

Lola - The Kinks.

************ NEW ************

Sixties

Rushed out to your house with wings on my feet
Loved you like I'd never loved you my sweet

That's Silhouettes. I remember hit versions by The Rays (I think) in the 50s, and Herman's Hermits in the 60s. Good one!

Here's some 1969:

You need coolin', baby, I'm not foolin'
I'm gonna send ya back to schoolin'

Led Zeppelin isn’t my forte at all, Jim. But I’m guessing “Whole Lot Of Love”.

That's forte enough, Cyn. You're up!

I’m glad, but I was only familiar with one of those lines. I never was able to make out their words very well.

This was very popular in 1967 on both sides of the Atlantic:

Pulling ducks out of the water
Got the highest score

BTW, Tony have you ever heard the version of “Silhouettes” done by The Rays. It’s excellent Doo-Wop, IMO.

Edit: I misspelled again

That is the Hollies - On a Carousel! Great band.

Try this one on while I go and check out The Rays!

With every mistake we must surely be learning

Heading out for a couple of hours so I'll leave some more info -

This song made a Top 500 list, plus 2 Top 100 lists.
It is a Brit song.

I think I must have heard that one somewhere...

While My Guitar Gently Weeps, by the Fab Four. Very nice!

This is from 1962:

The loveliness of Paris seems somehow sadly gay
The glory that was Rome is of another day
