Name the song the line is from Part II

OK, this one has been around since the late 60s, and it's been recorded by several artists, usually, but not always, with a country twist:

I followed you to Texas
I followed you to Utah
We didn't find it there
So we moved on

Is that called "My Elusive Dreams," or something like that? Who sang it?

Edited to add -- now I have that song running through my head, and remember some more lyrics --

From a small farm in Nebraska
To a gold mine in Alaska
But we didn't find it there
So we moved on ...

I know you're tired of following
My elusive dreams and schemes

Right song?

P.S. I think in your lyrics it was "You followed me to Texas ..." But I could be wrong, lol.

You have the song, Sue.

The lyrics vary somewhat, depending upon whether they're sung from the male or female perspective.

Among all the versions of this song recorded by country greats, I prefer the simple
version done by Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood.

Nancy was always regarded as a musical lightweight, but I thought she did a credible job on this song.

You're up.

OK, I finally had time to google the song. The version I remember was a country duet by Tammy Wynette and David Houston. That's what was played on country stations, I believe, and that was the original (from 1967). It was later done by Bobby Vinton, George Jones, Tom Jones, and Charlie Rich. I don't see Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood on the list, but maybe I missed them.

I have no new lyrics in mind, so somebody else can post.

OK, this one's from 1969:

Did I hear you say that there must be a catch?
Will you walk away from a fool and his money?

(Sue, if you want to hear the Nancy/Lee version of My Elusive Dreams, click on the link in my previous post. )

Thanks, Jim. I really like that song and haven't heard it in a very long time.

That’s “Come and get it” by Bad Finger

This is from 1970:

'Cause you know
that I mean what I say
So don't go
And never take me the wrong way

Edit: Corrected my spelling

Do we need hints? There was a post about another song from this artist two days ago.
I suppose this song was not my best choice from this artist, it only got to #42 on the U.S. charts. But so many others have covered the song, I thought it would fit. And it’s so good, I had to try.
According to Wikipedia
This artist is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and guitarist, who first found fame with the rock band Traffic. In his long career, he has played and recorded with many of the era's most notable musicians.

Here are a few more lines:

You know you can't go on
getting your own way
'Cause if you dooooh,
it's gonna get you someday, yeah.

I actually own the album "Traffic" (gift from sib). No clue about the song. I don't have a working turntable at the moment, but I assume the song isn't on that album anyway.
Well that’s too bad. I was sure someone would get it. It’s “Only you know and I know” by Dave Mason.

You’ll likely get this with just one line:

You're so like the lady with the mystic smile
