Name the song the line is from Part II

Yep, that's a really good one!

The Ballad Of John And Yoko, by the Beatles.

This one's from 1979:

So the walls came tumbling down
And your love's blown out a candle
All is gone, and it seems to hard to handle

I really like some of those tight Abba harmonies - that one was Chiquita.

Sixties

I'm gonna swing the song, yeah

I do believe that's the What key?? What key?? song, otherwise known as Fingertips Pt.2, by Stevie Wonder.

From 1984:

Secrets stolen from deep inside
The drum beats out of time

Some additional lines and hints before I logout:

After my picture fades, and darkness has turned to gray
Watching through windows, you’re wondering if I’m OK
Secrets stolen from deep inside
The drum beats out of time

This is an American female artist. Although she was a talented musician, she also understood the importance of image, and worked with a stylist to develop her carefully crafted “hybrid punk” persona.

In 1984, this song reached #1 US, and #3 UK. It was one of four top-five (US) songs that came from an album released in late 1983. The album’s title was She’s So Unusual.

See you all tomorrow!

Sounds like Ms Lauper - Time After Time

Seventies

Laughing and kissing till they saw the gun in my hand

That one is Dark Lady, by Cher. Good song!

This one has been recorded by many artists. The best US chart performance (#7) was achieved by a 1968 version. A 1977 version by a different artist achieved the best UK chart performance (#27):

And there's no need to take a stand
For it was I who chose to start

Hi All,

That one is “Angel of the Morning” first by Merrilee Rush, then later by Juice Newton. A very pretty tune, indeed.

Let’s get the sad stuff out of the way:

The tears are always clouding your eyes
When you’re without love

Edited a bad paste

Like you said a while back, Cyn, that's a sad song. And it says so much. But that's a whole other song.

Your current one is The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore. Very nice. I don't know if they were first, but the version I remember was done by The Walker Brothers.

More sadness was released upon the world (lol) with this 1977 tune:

Standing in the cold rain
Feeling like a clown

Don't know who's song it is but Rod The Mod does a great version - It's a Heartache.

Now everyone knows just how much I needed that gal

Sounds like Winchester Cathedral. Can't quite remember the name of the band, but I think it had the word "Vaudeville" in it. Oh-boe-dee-oh-doe.

From 1984:

They're starving back in China, so finish what you got
