Name the song the line is from Part II

I think that’s Give Me The Night, by George Benson. Very nice!

OK, songs from the nineties haven’t done so well here lately, so…let’s try another one! This is from 1993 (US#3 /UK#3):

I know I’m searching for something
Something so undefined
That it can only be seen
By the eyes of the blind

Well, that’s just excellent, Jim. I almost posted that one myself. “River of Dreams” by Billy Joel is a great choice.

Oh no, it’s another 90s song:

Ain't no angel gonna greet me
It's just you and I my friend

That’s Streets of Philadelphia, by Bruce Springsteen. A haunting song, and a great choice, Cyndee!

OK, that’s two successful 90s songs in a row. There’s no telling what might happen if we go for three. I’m goin’ back to the 60s, man.

Mostly because the lead singer’s voice was muffled and distorted, and folks (read: teens) could imagine hearing anything they wanted, this 1963 cover of a 1955 song was rumored to contain all kinds of filthy lyrics. The rumors were eventually disproven, but they persisted for a long time.

Lyrics websites vary somewhat, but here’s what I think I hear in the final verse:

Me see Jamaica, the moon above
It won’t be long, me see me love
Me take her in my arms again
I tell her I’ll never leave again

You probably wouldn’t want to see what the final verse was RUMORED to have said. Anyway, name that tune.

Louie,Louie,by the Kingsmen. I was in high school, and I can remeber Jimmy O. coming up to me with the REAL lyrics to that song!!!

How about:
In the back room she was everybody's darling

Bob

Pretty sure that's Walk On The Wild Side, by Lou Reed. Might be his first appearance on this thread. Good one, Bob!

This is from 1985 (US#6/UK#9):

I'd sit on his lap, in that big old Buick
And steer as we drove through town

Is it hint time? OK, first more lines:

I was eight years old, and running with
A dime in my hand
Into the bus stop, to pick up a paper
For my old man
I'd sit on his lap, in that big old Buick
And steer as we drove through town
He'd tousle my hair, and say "Son take
A good look around"

As for the artist, think New Jersey native, but don't think Frank Sinatra, Connie Francis, Dionne Warwick, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, or Bon Jovi. Then ask: Who's left?

Or just glance about 3 posts up.

I think that one is called “My Home Town” by Bruce Springsteen.

Let’s lighten the mood a bit:

When they play their music
Ooh that modern music
They like it with a lot of style
