Name the song the line is from Part II

That’s a really nice one, Jim. It’s “Being With You” by Smokey Robinson.

This got them dancing in 1958:

That wiggle in the walk and giggle in the talk

That's a good one, pal.

I remembered the song, and I knew it was the Big Bopper, but I had to keep running the lyrics through my head for what seemed like forever to come up with the dang title...Chantilly Lace.

We must have done this 1977 song before. I just hope it wasn't too recently:

But as the sun goes down, I get that empty feeling again
How I wish to God that you were here

That one is by William Robinson, better known as Smokey!,"being with you"

Here is one from the seventies,
Only you came when I needed a friend
Believed in me through thick and thin

Bob

Looks like a dud...the song is "You make me feel brand new" by the Stylistics

The floor is open1 Bob

Bob, I think maybe you got out of sync when we went to a new page -- it happens.

Cyndee guessed the Smokey Robinson song first, and then I answered her lyrics. Best I can tell, we're still working on my lyrics from a 1977 song:

But as the sun goes down, I get that empty feeling again
How I wish to God that you were here
Hi All,

Jim is right, Bob. The turn of the page throws me off half the time. Maybe we can try yours again another time. After all, “You Make Me Feel Brand New” is no dud. It’s a great song.

Jim, your song still gets a lot of play around here. It’s “Baby, Come Back” by Player

I hear this one a lot too:

They say that the father's insane
And dear Mrs. Perkin's a game

Pretty sure that one is China Gold by the Doobies. Good one - I've always liked their sound.

Here's one:

It seems to make you laugh each time I cry
Hi Slowpoke,

It’s nice to see you here. I really like your song too. It’s “Didn’t I Blow Your Mind (This Time) by The Del Fonics.

BTW, the Doobie Brothers song was “China Grove”, just to give that town their credit for putting up with the attention.

Another early 70s tune:

When I turned around I saw my little daughter running after me

Is that that sappy song by Wayne Newton? "Daddy, don't you walk so fast," or something like that?
That's it, exactly, Sue. Do you have one handy?
