Name the song the line is from Part II

Pretty sure that's Sam Cooke. I think it was just called Good Times.

This is from 1982:

You're the one
Who caught me
Baby, you taught me
How good it could be

Time for a few more lines and a hint or two:

And baby, it’s true
You’re the one
Who caught me
Baby, you taught me
How good it could be

It took so long to change my mind
I thought that love was a game
I played around enough to find
No two are ever the same

This group formed as a Southern Rock band in Jacksonville, FL, in 1974. According to Wiki, their musical style gradually morphed into “arena rock with southern roots.” I’m not exactly sure what that means, but it’s true that they achieved their greatest commercial success in the early 80s.

The band’s name includes a two-digit number.

thanks for the warm welcome back from the dead. yay me

I like bands who rock w/ southern roots..but am at a loss.
Trying to figure out your hints w/ limited coffee in my veins...

Blink- something 2 comes to mind..
Blink - 82?

Colt-45? no, that can't be it

(I should not make you guys listen to me think...LOL)

Nice try.

That one's been up a while, and doesn't seem to be working, so it's probably time to give it up.

It was Caught Up In You, by .38 Special. In 1982, it topped out at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100, but reached #1 on the Mainstream Rock chart.

How 'bout this hit from 1960:

There goes my baby
There goes my heart
They're gone forever

That's "Only the Lonely," by Roy Orbison. I think.

If I'm right, let's try a single line ...

"Where hustle's the name of the game"
Hi All,

I really like that one, Sue.
It’s “Rhinestone Cowboy” by Glen Campbell.

This went to #10 in 1955, but still gets decent play and has been covered a lot too:

You made me cry
When you said good-bye.

Is that "Ain't That a Shame?" Pat Boone, Fats Domino? I'm not sure.
Yes, Sue. It sure is.
OK. Try this country song ...

"Although we had no money,
I was rich as I could be"
