Name the song the line is from Part II

As I look at those lyrics this morning, I get the feeling that I may have already done this song in the not-too-distant past, but I’m not sure. Anyway, it looks like it's not working.

It was Liar, Liar, by The Castaways.

Here’s another one that, I hope, is easier. Cover versions of this song did well on the country charts in the 70s and 80s, but the original, from 1959, was NOT a country song -- it hit #3 on the Hot 100, and #1 on the R&B chart:

Remember, in your search for fortune and fame
What goes up, must come down

Let's see if adding two lines to complete the verse is helpful :

After I gave you everything I had
You laughed and called me a clown
Remember, in your search for fortune and fame
What goes up, must come down

It's just a matter of time,Brook Benton,the guy had a cool,deep voice.

How about:Ten thousand electric guitars Were groovin' real loud, yeah

Bob

Sounds familiar, but I haven't been able to place it so far, Bob.

It seems that no one knows that one, so I think it's time to move on.

I googled, and it's a good one -- Monterey, by Eric Burdon and The Animals. I should have known it. Sorry, Bob.

Let's try this one. It was written in 1968, and has been recorded by scores of artists. A country band had the most success with it, reaching #9 on the Hot 100 in 1971:

And after twenty years, he still grieves

Mr Bojangles

a one liner

Oh, he is lost, there's no place for beginning,
Yeah, Phil. That’s a good one. What we have here is “What becomes Of The Broken Hearted” by Jimmy Ruffin.
I always thought it went, “All is lost”, but I must have misheard it.

This one is pretty clear:

He say, “One and one and one is three”
Come Together....here they are ! The Beatles !!!!

The coldest hour is the one
Comes just before the dawn

Cyndee you are right. I checked two other sites and the one I quoted was incorrect !
very nice

Phil, I'm wondering if you mean And the darkest hour is just before dawn.

If so, that would be from (This Is) Dedicated To The One I Love, by the Shirelles and The Mamas and The Papas.

I won't post any lyrics.

This is a couplet not from my normal sphere. I went to a different lyrics site maybe I am 0 for 2
