Name the song the line is from Part II

That's definitely Sundown, Sue.

Do you want to post lyrics?

(Cyn, I think any Gordon can be a Gordo, as long as you're not thinking in Spanish)

You go ahead, Jim. I can't think of anything.

OK, from 1986:

I was eighteen
Didn't have a care
Workin' for peanuts
Not a dime to spare

A few more lines, including the title:

I was eighteen
Didn't have a care
Workin' for peanuts
Not a dime to spare
But I was lean
And solid everywhere
____ _ ____

It's a three word title, as you can see.

The song was used in a nationwide pickup truck commercial.

The artist is often called a Detroit rocker, but he actually grew up in Ann Arbor.

That’s gotta be “Like a rock” by Bob Seger.

Here’s one:

I guess this kind of thing's just in your blood
But you won't catch me carving up my love
I ain't no puzzle piece that needs to fit
If it takes more than me, let's call it quits
I missed the boat on 'Gordo' but I happened to scan some You Tube videos of him. I hardly recognized him on a TV show in the early 70s. he was a good looking guy. His voice doesn't have a great range but some songs seem made for him. Carry on

I guess this kind of thing's just in your blood
But you won't catch me carving up my love
I ain't no puzzle piece that needs to fit
If it takes more than me, let's call it quits

Oh, yeah! Great choice, Cyndee. Loved that song!

It's I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That, by Elton.

This one's from the early 80s:

Father wears his Sunday best
Mother's tired, she needs a rest

More lyrics:

Father wears his Sunday best
Mother's tired, she needs a rest
The kids are playing up downstairs
Sister's sighing in her sleep
Brother's got a date to keep
He can't hang around

British band. Two-word title.

Released in late 1982, this song peaked at #7 on the US charts in early 1983. It later inspired a musical of the same name that played in London in 2002-03.

Although it's an entirely different song, it has the same title as a 1970 single by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

I guess that one won't work.

It was Our House, by Madness.

Let's try another. This melancholy song was a hit in 1970. It's since been covered by several artists:

Neon signs a-flashin'
Taxi cabs and buses passin'
Through the night

A distant moanin' of a train
Seems to play a sad refrain
To the night

Good Morning All,

I like that one, Jim. It’s “Rainy night in Georgia”. I liked it by Brooke Benton.

How about a “feel good” song?

Then I learned to play some lead guitar,
I was underage in this funky bar
And I stepped outside to smoke myself a J
