Name the song the line is from Part II

Nevermind. I should have known you'd guess it, Cyn.

Oops. Got caught without lyrics to post, so I had to go looking.

Cyn, that's another pretty song there. I Can Dream About You, by Dan Hartman. Very nice!

This one was a hit for a female singer in 1983, and again for a male vocalist some years later. I liked both versions:

And I don't wanna know the price
I'm gonna pay for dreaming
When even now, it's more than I can take

That would be Laura Branigan or Michael Bolton singing “How Am I Supposed To Live Without You?” That took me longer than it should have.

This might be easy, but I really like it:

One that makes me feel like I feel when I'm with you

That guy's music makes me feel good. It's like he's always smiling, even when he's singing.

"He" is Huey Lewis, and here he and The News are singing I Want A New Drug. Good one!

In 1974, this group turned an apparent "defeat" into victory:

And how could I ever refuse
I feel like I win when I lose

Hi All,

That’s right, Jim. “Waterloo” was an upbeat song. ABBA made it sound almost fun to lose a battle.

Speaking of upbeat:

Everybody's goin' off the deep end

I guess we'd all go off the deep end if we were just Working For The Weekend, like those poor guys in that band Loverboy. I like that one!

This one from '89 is more melancholy, but I like it, too:

Somewhere back there in the dust
That same small town in each of us

Let's try more lyrics and a hint or two :

Who knows how long this will last
Now we've come so far, so fast
But somewhere back there in the dust
That same small town in each of us

I need to remember this
So baby, give me just one kiss
And let me take a long last look
Before we say goodbye

The male artist was a lead singer, songwriter, and drummer for one of the most popular American 70s bands. He began a very successful 14-year solo career after the band broke up in 1980, during which time he wrote songs like this one.

The band reunited in 1994, and has been touring on and off since then, although rumors have become more persistent that the aging band members may soon hang it up.

Poor Don Henley was singing about “The End Of The Innocence”. You are right, melancholy it is.

This one from 1980 is so nice, it has been used in a lot of weddings:

And life is worth living again
for, to love you, to me, is to live

Pretty sure that's One In A Million You. Had a mental block over the singer's name for a minute there. I think it's Larry Graham. Very nice, Cyndee.

This duet did well on the charts in 1983:

Need you every day
Gotta have your love around me
Baby, always stay

I heard that one a lot over the years. It’s a soft rock staple they call “Baby, Come To Me” by Patti Austin and James Ingram.

Step back to 1980:

And you told me not to drive
But I made it home alive
