Name the song the line is from Part II

"Save the Last Dance for Me," by (I think) Jerry Butler (Cook County politician, lol), and much later by Emmylou Harris.

New lyrics -

"Now tell me baby,
Do you like it like this"

That's Do You Love Me, by The Contours.

Another from the early 60s:

How can we keep love alive?
How can anything survive?

In the ghetto? Nah, but it coulda been.

Just came to me: "Town Without Pity" by Gene Pitney.

My last offering for the day:

I entertain by picking brains,
Sell my soul by dropping names...
That’s “The bitch is back” by Elton John.

Next:

You got me where you want me
I ain't nothin’ but your fool
You treat me mean
Oh, you treat me cruel

I recognize the lyric but can't quite place it. Maybe after coffee.

Is it time for Part III? This thread is loading slooooooooooooooooooooowwwly.

Cyndee's lyrics are from Chain Of Fools, by Aretha.

This one was a #2 hit in 1981:

On shadowed ground, with no one around
And a blanket of stars in our eyes
We are drifting free, like two lost leaves
On the crazy wind of the night

Good Morning All,

That be “Slow Hand” by the Pointer sisters.

I think I’ll try, for the first time on this thread, a one word clue:

Yahoo!
...all I come up with is Mountain Dew
Okay, we needed more than that one word. But, the group shouts “Yahoo!” quite a few times in the song.
Think “Huge Dance Hit from 1980”. It stayed at # 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks in February 1981.
One more hint; the following are a few of the only lines that don’t contain some form of the single word title:

It’s time to come together
It’s up to you
What’s your pleasure?

Should have known that one from the one-word clue.

It's Celebration, by Kool & The Gang.

OK, this is from 1973:

All over the country, I've seen it the same
Nobody's winning at this kind of game
We've got to do better; it's time to begin
You know all the answers must come from within
